歴代勝者を戦わせる記念大会の闘技場からすんでのところで助けられたカットニスは、第13地区の地下にあるコイン首相率いる反乱軍の秘密基地に収容される。そこでは独裁国家パネムを打ち負かし、自由で平等な国家を作り上げるための戦いの準備が着々と進行しており、彼女も反乱軍と一緒に戦うことを決める。

12の地区より12歳から18歳までの男女一組を選出し、最後の1人になるまで戦わせる独裁国家パネムが実施する「ハンガー・ゲーム」。男女ペアで勝者となったカットニス（ジェニファー・ローレンス）とピータ（ジョシュ・ハッチャーソン）は、凱旋（がいせん）ツアーで各地区を回る中で、自分たちを反国家の象徴として捉える民衆の思い、静かに広がっている革命への動きを感じる。同様に国民の変化を悟ったスノー大統領（ドナルド・サザーランド）は、カットニス抹殺をひそかな目的にした歴代勝者結集の新ゲームを開催させる。

人間の子どもたちを怖がらせ、その悲鳴をエネルギー源として用いるモンスターの世界。そこに暮らすモンスター青年マイクは、明朗活発でポジティブな思考の持ち主だったが、仲間よりも体が小さくてルックスもかわいいことに劣等感を抱いていた。これでは子どもたちを絶叫させる“恐がらせ屋”にはなれないと、世界中のモンスターが憧れを抱く名門大学「モンスターズ・ユニバーシティ」に入学。期待に胸を膨らませる彼だが、そこにはサリーを筆頭に大きくて姿が恐ろしい“恐がらせ屋”のエリート候補生があふれていた。

14世紀。平民の若者ウィリアムはジュースティングをして諸国を巡る騎士エクスター卿の従者をしていた。ある日、卿が不幸にも命を落とすとウィリアムは大会に出ることのできない平民であることを偽り出場、みごと優勝してしまう。そしてこの時、ウィリアムの心の中で何かに火が点くのだった……。

とある高層ビルの一室に集まった6人の男女。彼らは謎の主催者から賞金1万ドルという脱出ゲームに招待された参加者だった。リラックスしてゲーム開始を待つ6人だが、一向に主催者からの連絡がない。待ちくたびれた彼らが帰ろうとすると、ドアノブが外れ、何の説明もなくゲームが開始される。出口は開かず、次第に部屋の温度が上昇していく。やがて6人は、これが遊びではなく、失敗すれば命がないデスゲームであることを知る。

ゲームの世界に入り込める画期的な体感シミュレーションゲームの発表会が催され、有力者の子息らに交じってコナンたちもプレーに参加することに。だが、彼らを待っていたのは、自殺した天才少年プログラマーのヒロキが作り上げた人工知能からの挑戦状だった。ゲームをひとりもクリアできなければ、全員が二度と目覚めることはないというのだ。コナンは19世紀のベイカー街を再現した世界で、切り裂きジャックに立ち向かう……。
