A young woman seeks to expand her limited horizons, set against a backdrop of wartime London.

Hollywood producer Alexander Meyerheimer has hired drunken writer Richard Benson to write his latest movie. Benson has been in Paris supposedly working on the script for months, but instead has spent the time living it up. Benson now has just two days to the deadline and thus hires a temporary secretary, Gabrielle Simpson, to help him finish on time.

A simple typewriter is familiar with a garage-facing young man, who is recommended to be a big business man. The same is done by her, presenting the daughter of his boss industrialist. In the end, however, all is corrected, misunderstandings are overlooked and the poor typist marries the poor garage.

After separating from the father of her son, a young French woman tries to find lodging and a fresh start in L.A. for herself and her son.

Take a Letter, Mr Jones was a short-lived 1981 British sitcom produced by Southern Television for ITV. It ran for a single series of six episodes. Graham Jones works as personal secretary to female executive Joan Warner within a London-based multinational corporation called 8-Star. Although he ably assists her in their busy office, Graham often helps Joan with her equally hectic domestic arrangements as she is a single mother to seven-year-old Lucy.
