브라질의 리우에서 살아가는 열네 살 소년 라파엘과 가르도는 어느 날 우연히 쓰레기 더미에서 지갑을 발견하게 된다. 뜻밖의 행운에 기뻐한 것도 잠시, 곧 경찰이 들이닥쳐 어마어마한 현상금을 걸며 지갑을 수소문하고, 지갑에 중요한 무언가가 있음을 직감한 두 친구는 하수구에 사는 일명 ‘들쥐’에게 지갑을 맡긴다. 라파엘, 가르도, 들쥐의 수상한 낌새를 눈치챈 경찰은 세 소년을 쫓기에 이르고, 아이들은 지갑을 둘러싼 비밀을 밝혀내기 위해 수수께끼를 풀어나가기 시작하는데…….

장프랑수아 밀레의 <이삭 줍는 사람들>이라는 그림에서 시작해 추수가 끝난 대지에 남아 있는 농산물이나 과일들을 줍는 사람들, 개펄에서 조개를 줍는 사람들, 도시의 쓰레기통에서 주운 음식들만 먹고 살아가는 사람들, 그리고 버려진 물건들을 모아서 작품을 만드는 재활용 미술가에 이르기까지 다양한 장소에서 다양한 대상들을 수집하는 사람들의 모습들이 보여진다. 쓸모 없어 보이는 파편더미들 속에서 새로운 가치와 진실들이 발견되기도 하고, 무의미한 대상들이 놀라운 예술작품으로 변모하는 과정이 펼쳐진다. 아녜스 바르다는 마치 일기를 쓰듯이 정겹고 주관적인 형식으로 영화를 구성해 간다. 버려진 것들을 주워서 살아갈 수밖에 없는 가난한 촌부나 도시의 홈리스 등에 대한 묘사가 프랑스 사회 내부의 모순들을 간접적으로 드러내고 있다면, 재활용 미술가나 환경운동가와 같은 사람들의 목소리를 통해서는 현대 사회의 과도하고 무분별한 소비성이 비판되기도 한다.

The fate of the world rests on Ueki, an average junior high student. Average until he gains the power to change trash into trees. Granted to him by the enigmatic Mr K., Ueki’s strange power forces him to participate in the 100-fighter "Battle of Supernatural Powers." If Ueki wins the tournament, Mr. K will become the new King of the Celestial World while Ueki will receive the "Talent of Blank", allowing him to choose any power he desires. However, if Ueki gets too many penalties during the game, he will disappear!
Ciao Darwin is a variety game show format from Italy sold under licence to several countries, including Romania, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Canada, USA, China and Greece. There are two competing teams of about 50 people each, usually made up of people who fit certain opposing stereotypes. In each game two members of the audience are selected at random, one from each team, indicated by a light in front of them which remains illuminated when all the other team members' lights have gone off. The games involve contestants competing in acts of bravery, style and talent, some of which are designed to humiliate the contestants, especially an assault course which was introduced with the Italian version in 2010, and the Finale which is a water tank game.
