홋카이도의 아사히야마 동물원은 곤충에 광적으로 빠져있는 요시다를 새 사육사로 맞이한다. 얼마 안 있어 요시다는 곧 이 동물원이 심각한 경영난에 처해 있으며 소장인 다키자와가 폐업을 막기 위해 안간힘을 쓰고 있다는 사실을 알게 된다. 다키자와의 열정에 감동받은 요시다와 동료 사육사들은 그와 힘을 합쳐 불가능할 것만 같았던 난제들을 하나씩 해결하기 시작한다. '행동 전시'라는 컨셉을 표방한 아사히야마 동물원은 2006년 마침내 일본에서 가장 오래되고 유명한 동경의 우에노 동물원을 관람객수에서 훌쩍 뛰어넘는다. (2009년 제9회 광주국제영화제)

중앙아프리카공화국의 수도, 방기. 한때 내전으로 모든 것이 파괴된 이곳에 건축 붐이 일고 있다. 그 가운데 새로운 제방을 짓는 공사에 뛰어든 한 중국인 건축업자와 현지 노동자들. 그들이 바라는 것은 모두 더 나은 삶과 진보이다. 하지만 새로운 내전과 코로나19의 그림자가 드리우고, 계획은 점점 꼬여만 간다.

9.11 테러 이후, 그라운드 제로의 재건을 둘러싼 논의는 미국 역사상 가장 건축적이고 정치적이며 감정적으로도 복잡한 도시 리뉴얼 프로젝트로 기록되었다. 11년의 시간, 19개의 정부 부처, 12개의 하위 프로젝트와 200억불 이상의 예산이 연관되어 있는데다, 정치적인 이슈가 얽혀 있어 초기부터 논란을 불러 일으켰다. <16에이커스>는 이 프로젝트를 두고 벌어진 다양한 이해의 충돌을 따라간다. 기차역과 공연장, 성스러운 추모공간과 박물관이 들어설 미국 최고 높이의 4개 건물을 건설하기 위해 3천명의 노동자들이 현장에서 땀을 흘리고 있다. 영화는 프로젝트 뒤 핵심 인물들의 목소리를 통해 2001년 9월 12일부터 9.11 테러의 10주년 기념일까지 10년에 걸친 이야기를 풀어낸다. Tremé takes its name from a neighborhood of New Orleans and portrays life in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricane. Beginning three months after Hurricane Katrina, the residents of New Orleans, including musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians, and other New Orleanians struggle to rebuild their lives, their homes and their unique culture.

In the first episode of Project Binky, we take a rotten old Austin Mini and strip it down to a bare shell. We then take an angle grinder to it and cut it to pieces. It's only then that the customised rebuilding process starts. We're trying to create one of the fastest Minis on the planet. We're going to rebuild it with the engine and running gear from a Toyota Celica ST185 GT4. Or at least that's the plan. Whether it comes off or not is another matter. We're filming this as it happens so what you see is only a few weeks behind where we're actually at so we're not sure yet whether we can do it. That's kind of the fun though. Stick with us through the highs and the lows of the project. Hopefully it'll be worth the agony and cash. Feel free to share it far and wide!

When we look around our homes, sheds and garages we see an array of household objects that with one click of a button or twist of a knob will spring to life, and - most of the time - do exactly what we want them to. But how on earth do these objects work? To find out, James May (fuelled by endless cups of tea) heads into his workshop with thousands of little pieces to assemble some of our most beloved and recognisable objects from scratch to see what it actually takes to get them to work.
