In a land we call home, a fish navigates the confines of a small glass tank, its eyes fixated on landscapes in the last lines in the glass. Trying to reach beyond, she swims slowly and then in a frenzy towards the illusion of open spaces, only to collide with the transparent barrier. As we venture through the fish´s perspective, the land undergoes surreal events until it becomes an abstracted from within. In this homeland, a fish imprisoned in a tank becomes a journey where the land dissolves, carrying within it the countless roots over centuries, undergoing cycles of death and rebirth in new forms.

A personal project with a community impact that transforms individual memories of suffering into collective memory. The film depicts satirical and realistic scenes of Gaza’s public spaces, addressing deeply rooted social issues over the past fifteen years. Through digitisation and 3D modelling, it explores the city’s conceptual landscape under blockade and imagines how the current natural environment might appear.

This is the first installment of the "Voices from Gaza" documentary project, which aims to deliver to the world the current state of the Gaza Strip in Palestine in 2025, a state that cannot be fully conveyed through fragmented news footage or social media videos, at a speed faster than a typical film release. Ahmad Al-Gharban, a 16-year-old boy from Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, survived an Israeli attack on March 22, 2025, but lost both legs and his fingers. His twin brother, Muhammad, his uncle, and a 6-year-old cousin were also killed. Ahmad began studying circus music at age 7 with his deceased brother, and dreamed of becoming a performer. Ahmad and his family currently live in a refugee camp where drones fly overhead 24/7. The camp is located on the site of the former Islamic University of Gaza.
