When a man decides to follow his faith, his family faces a crisis at a time of year usually filled with hope.

Bandura is growing up with his single mother in the Georgian region of Javakheti. The teenager earns extra money herding sheep, helping the local cheesemaker, and planting potatoes. Home at the kitchen table, his mother reads aloud from the Bible, but Bandura has other things on his mind: he wants to travel to the Moon. By selling sheep, he can make enough money to catch a boat to the United States, where he can start asking around about where to study to become a space traveller. Even though time appears to have come to a halt here, with a bit of fantasy – which our protagonist has plenty of – Javakheti by night really does look like the lunar landscape.

Entire film takes place on stairs. In a flat someone feels very bad and for that reason ambulance is called. The situation is becoming worse and worse. A neighbor is browsing the stuation to understand what is happening.

Batumi is the tourist center of Georgia. Every day large number of locals and tourists watch the ships entering or leaving the port. There is only one ship, "Enguri", with its crew of two that never leaves the port. The three of them are refugees from Abkhazia. Lado is the captain and Vakho is the boatswain. They never leave their almost broken ship, anchored in Batumi port.

Grandmother always replies to Luka's curious guestions, one answer forces the child to catch birds, which will help him to see his mother. All days the boy spends on the roof with a trap, trying to catch a huge number of birds. grandmother react calmly to his desire, she only remarks that birds have mothers and they miss them too. later a group of older boys takes away his trap and only after that realizes the little boy these words. the conflict with the boys finishes after Luka's attempt to get his birds back. this incident changes a lot of thing for the little dreamer, he doesn't want to achieve his aim by using other creatures and releases the birds.

A flock of storks was flying south, but one bird lagged behind and fell to the meadow without strength. A little girl found the stork and called the adults for help. There were rallies and actions to save the bird. Only a little girl thought to give water and fish to the tired stork, after which it flew away.

Gogui and Omar flee in suburban trains to sell pornographic photographs. With no other perspective than to survive each day, the two outcasts transform their convergence of circumstance into a camaraderie that may rescue them, if the world does not interfere.
