The top management of the co-operative in the rural community at Lake Balaton goes on coaches everywhere to irritate Mrs. Peczöli, the snobbish wife of the only individual farmer. Peczöli would readily join the co-operative, should it not oppose his apple improving experiments.

The film is a lyrical series of associations compiled from documentaries. Márkus, the actor is shut in his own flat by his wife by accident. While learning his part, on the wings of poetic intuition his imagination tours the great landscapes of the soul, the mystery of human existence.

Sounds as witnesses. They blurr into memories, half-dreams, it is undecided if they are real or not. A fluctuation between imagination and reality.

The Sultan of Zanzibar has a harbor infested with sharks, which makes it impossible for ships to trade with him. The director of the theater in Győr, a city in Hungary, dies unexpectedly in the middle of the season. Boday Balázs, a once highly popular actor, is temporarily placed in his position. Boday arrives in the city with two objectives: firstly, to rescue the theater from bankruptcy, and secondly, to meet his never-before-seen daughter born out of wedlock, whom her mother (the city's current mayor) has kept him away from. Balázs quickly gets to know the theater, the ensemble, the staff, and even finds friends. However, he also encounters adversaries who do everything they can to ensure Boday does not receive his permanent appointment.
