Felicia is one of the thousands of Malagasy fishermen and women on the Velondriake archipelago whose way of life is increasingly threatened by poverty and political marginalization. As an orphan and later as a mother, she turns to the sea as a means for sustenance, even when migration and commercial trawling threaten small-scale fishing operations. Like many other women in Madagascar, she embodies a steadfast willingness to keep moving forward in the face of major challenges.

After the death of their mother, Rova and Tania, two sisters who have lost touch for years, learn that their father is still alive. They kidnap Gaëlle, their half-sister to attract their father's attention.

Tafita tells the story of Mahandry, a modest young man who had to suspend his university studies and who works as a waiter to support himself. One day, he sees Alicia, his ex-girlfriend from high school again thus, implements a plan to win her back. He pretends to be a successful businessman, owner of a luxurious villa where Émile, his father, the caretaker, pretends to be his butler while his friend Gilbert plays the role of servant, during an evening when the real owner had to be absent. The golden opportunity for Mahandry inviting Alicia to impress him and go out with her again. A succession of unforeseen events during the evening will jeopardize this plan to such an extent that Mahandry's lies end up turning against him.
