We went in search of the graves of the Macedonian vojvodas to remember their maxims. Their voice is very strong if there is someone to hear it... Only in the Macedonian language and in Macedonia the term "vojvoda" has a single meaning - a strong man, brave, leader of a rebel group or company during the time of Turkish slavery.

The monastery "St. Panteleimon" in Nerezi is a masterpiece of medieval, not only Macedonian but also Byzantine architecture. Its main features are the harmonious forms, the mastery of its builders, the polychrome facade of stone and brick, as well as the skillfully made domes. The painting, on the other hand, by unknown masters from 1164 represents the apogee of drama, unseen in medieval painting until Nerezi.
