SOWT is the voice of an oblivion culture that about to go lost.The documentary introduces us to a poet until recently has been listent to, in a forgotten culture in the south; with Sleymen Rihani... With his improvisation had developed against the instant case, with the humor he had sprinkled to the improvisation, with his instrument that became the partner of his voice, and most importantly Antioch Arab poet Sleymen Rihani who had sung classic Arabic songs with his strong throat, is the monument of the verbal culture. SOWT(Voice), that is prepared by the director Gökhan Evecen who blends the oral history studies with the documentary, is his second study after "Finnen" documentary which tells about Antioch Arabic poets.

He was a pragmatic activist who reacted against poverty, and looked to European models for suggestions. He applied the Islamic concept of the public interest, to economic issues. He emphasized the central role of justice and security in economic development. He was a major advocate of modernization for Tunisia's political and economic systems.

Italian witnesses will recognize him and denounce him to the Inquisition as a renegade, an indictment which is liable to the stake. Ali seeks to influence the course of the trial, he denies ever having been a Christian and proclaims himself a Muslim, the son of a Muslim. A long game of failure takes place between the court and the prisoner, he alternately tries to speed up or slow down the course of the trial depending on the nature of the information and testimony available to the inquisitors. We believe we are witnessing a modern trial where the shots alternate according to the investigations. This story of Ali Raïs was however not invented, the character is real and all the facts are recorded in a handwritten account of the hearings of the court of the inquisition.

The story surrounds a young boy called Obaid. He is confronted with a choice to live an easy life in this world or to struggle for reward in the hereafter. The story takes place during the tyrannical rule of King Narsis, who controls his people by encouraging them to worship idols and frightening them with the magic of Cinatas, his evil sorcerer. Cinatas chooses Obaid to be his student, someone who will assist him in his magic. At first, the boy is tempted by dreams of the power and the influence he will wield as the king's next sorcerer. But, soon after he starts to question his priorities. He begins talking to a righteous and a very holy man, who opens his mind to the true meaning of life.
