After the mysterious disappearance of the island of Ada-Kaleh, the site of an incendiary love affair, Ismail flees to Istanbul, leaving behind a great love and a child named Gicu. As the years go by, Gicu grows up and experiences a forbidden passion with Lucica, a beautiful and seductive woman full of unfulfilled desires. Everything changes one day, when Gicu sees his father on a television program. This is when fate brings them together, but in unexpected and dangerous ways.

Matei, a young shepherd boy living in the outskirts of Romania, finds more comfort among his sheep than with his abusive, alcoholic dad. But now Matei is starting to mimic his father's violence, he's faced with a question: 'Who am I?'

Report from the Red Flag is an odd presence against the gloomy background of Stalinist Romania. It belongs to a wider body of Sahia films about the living conditions afforded by the new blocks of flats built across Romania – in this case, a workers’ quarter built in ‘Stalin’-town (the name assigned, between 1950 and 1960, to the Transylvanian town of Brasov). Ana is 30 years old and lives with her parents. As her ex-husband takes their daughter and her nagging mother to the countryside, she prepares for a laidback evening with her friends. Soon she comes to realize she lost her cell phone which prevents her from receiving a much awaited call from her previous night's stand. Her friends, Iulia, Andrei and Marius, arrive and try to watch a movie. The screening is frequently interrupted by an increasingly annoying and rather absurd dialogue that takes place between the thief/finder of the cell phone and Ana.

While a gruff inspector mentors a new hire, he flips their usual routine when he investigates a monk with a link to a fatal incident from years ago.
