Big Machines have always fascinated young children. This DVD contains simple, discovery-filled reports about Big Machines. Here, children have time to calmly see how the machine works and what it does. Among other things, we see big machines that work in ports, mines, airports and on farms. The machines roll, dig, lift, shovel, drag, extinguish and empty. Exciting!
Ramblings depict a number of distorted 3D characters moving about in a scrap land. I built the scene in a game engine, and captured the events taking place there with virtual cameras. It is a collage of forms and functions, with textures and animations applied incorrectly. This material was obtained from public domain libraries, low budget game asset stores and preset banks. Mythological shapes show up in a haphazard and contextless way, mirroring the image flow of the internet era and the mental processes involved when making meaning of the world.

One early morning the Eritrean nurse and human-rights activist Adal Neguse woke up in his home in Stockholm with an uncanny feeling. He listened to the news and heard about a disaster on the Mediterranean. A boat with 369 Eritrean refugees had caught fire and sank outside Lampedusa. Adal knew his brother was waiting for smugglers to bring him over to Europe. He got a strong feeling his brother was onboard this particular boat and went to Lampedusa to look for him. In the film, four survivors tell about the disaster from their individual perspective, they have four separate stories about what happened.
