Albrecht Becker was one of the last people to have survived the enacted Nazi suppression of homosexuals, which started in 1933, with the implementation of Paragraph 175. Imprisoned in Nuremberg from 1935 to 1938, he then decides to enrol in the army. On the Russian front he starts taking photos. After the war he dedicates himself to his job as a cinema production designer and scenographer, working mainly with musical comedies. Becker had started to 'decorate' his body in 1943, practicing the art of tattoos and piercing and taking photos of his progressive transformations. The director puts the spotlight on the body of Becker with photographs resembling landscapes of a body which, by its constant mutations and history, left a mark on its century.

Against a background of chants and prayers, the image of a minaret, emerging from amongst satellite-clad roof terraces, is repeated in a swift staccato montage. Accelerated clouds cross the sky behind it, and gradually envelop and overlap the sacred building.

Manipulations is a video inspired by the famous game of logic Rubik’s cube. It is a succession of close-ups of varying intensity showing a pair of hands manipulating a cube with colored faces, to a soundtrack of a regular and insistent beat, the clicking of the cubes combining at times with strident acoustic distortions. As the resolution of the logic game progresses, cubes with black faces that weren’t initially present appear, progressively replacing the colored cubes until the brainteaser becomes completely black, with the exception of a row of cubes with a white line. Meanwhile, the hands tirelessly continue their manipulations while images of the Kaaba are overlaid on those of the hands moving around and being progressively covered in black. This piece is part of a larger body of work initiated in 2004 that also comprises a series of photographs, a sculpture and a video game.

For here lying hidden among rough karst mountains is a “Natural Wonder World” – the Plitvice Lakes, one of the oldest Nationalparks in Europe. The Plitvice Lakes are embedded in a grandiose karst region. The film follows the course of the water taking it’s wondrous paths through the limestone. Rain and snow seep through the porous layers, cavities and caves to disappear from the surface but once in the depths these small water veins collect to mighty torrents.

Marina Confalone plays a slick psychic reader handling other people's problems with nonchalance in a parody of fortune telling shows. She gets a call from a gay person asking her advice in personal matters and her countenance is tested.
