Niujorko policininkas, seržantas Ralfas Sarčis (Eric‘as Bana) imasi tirti keistų ir itin žiaurių nusikaltimų virtinę. Vienas jo kolega bando seržantą įtikinti, kad šie nusikaltimai negali būti paprasto žmogaus darbas ir kad čia yra įsipainioję aukštesnės blogio jėgos.
