Kasmet atsitiktinai parinkta devintokų klasė priverčiama dalyvauti žiauriame žaidime: tris dienas jie paliekami atokioje saloje su ant kaklo uždėtais sprogmenimis. Jie turi kovoti tarpusavyje, nes nugalėtojas yra tik vienas.
