Nedideliame Naujosios Anglijos Mančesterio miestelyje augęs Ly kažkada buvo kupinas optimistiškų vilčių. Tačiau siaubinga tragedija jo gyvenimą apvertė aukštyn kojomis. Negalėdamas susitaikyti su skausmu, vyras išsiskyrė su žmona Rende ir išvyko gyventi kitur. The story is about an aging cowboy and his nephew who transport 500 horses from Oregon to Wyoming to sell them to the British Army. Along the way, their simple horse drive is complicated when they rescue five Chinese girls from a slave trader, saving them from a life of prostitution and indentured servitude. Compelled to do the right thing, they take the girls with them as they continue their perilous trek across the frontier, followed by a vicious gang of killers sent by the whorehouse madam who originally paid for the girls. Broken Trail weaves together two historical events: the British buying horses in the American West in the late 19th century and Chinese women being transported from the West Coast to the interior to serve as prostitutes.

Yuen is a music teacher as well as a househusband. He meets, falls in love, and marries an optimistic TV scriptwriter, Ting, in a rush. Unfortunately, before they can adjust to the newlywed life, they suddenly become “parents” of five nephews and nieces. Yuen and Ting move from a small family into a big house to live with five nieces and nephews. Although their personalities and principles in teaching the children are complete opposites, they can always manage to solve any problems with their love. However, the children find out that their father’s death has been covered up. They divert their anger to Yuen and Ting and run away from home. Eventually, Yuen and Ting find them back. When the children start to treat them like real parents, their marriage is in a crisis. Will the children have to face another major change at home?

Open All Hours is a British television sitcom created and written by Roy Clarke, starring Ronnie Barker as penny-pinching corner-shopkeeper Albert Arkwright, and David Jason as his nephew and assistant Granville. The programme originated as a 1973 episode of Barker’s comedy anthology Seven of One, and later ran for 26 episodes; the first series broadcast on BBC2, the remaining three series broadcast on BBC1.
