Po įvykių, kuriuos matėme ankstesnėje dalyje Itanas ir jo komanda susiduria su su pavojinga dirbtinio intelekto sistema “The Entity”. Jie siekia surasti nuskendusį rusų povandeninį laivą, kuriame slypi svarbus „The Entity“ pirminis kodas, galintis nulemti kovos su šia grėsme baigtį. Šį kartą, kovodami su technologijomis, galinčiomis sunaikinti pasaulį, jie turi priimti dar sudėtingesnius sprendimus ir susidurti su savo praeities pasirinkimais, kurie gali pakeisti viską.

JAV povandeniniame laive, jaunas pareigūnas sukelia maištą, kad užkirstų piktnaudžiaujančiam kapitonui paleisti raketas anksčiau.

1942 metais Vokietija sutelkė visas jėgas kovai su priešais tiek sausumoje, tiek vandenyje. Tūkstančiai povandeninių laivų, kurių kodinis pavadinimas prasideda raide U, ieško ir naikina priešo laivų vilkstines. Filmas pasakoja apie tragišką vieno povandeninio laivo plaukiojimą. Tačiau netikėtai povandeninis laivas susiduria su anglų karo laivu. Įvyksta mūšis. Tą akimirką, kai laivo įgula rengiasi švęsti pergalę, jų laukia visiškas pralaimėjimas...

Postapokaliptinis ateities pasaulis, kuriame įvykis, žinomas kaip „Tylusis paskutinis teismas”, privertė išnykti visas žinomas žvaigždes ir gyvenamas planetas visatoje. Nuteistasis siunčiamas ieškoti kraujo vandenyno, aptikto apleistame mėnulyje, naudojantis nedideliu povandeniniu laivu, pramintu „Geležinis plautis“.

Po paskutinių Domo (Vin‘as Diesel‘is) ir kompanijos nuotykių, kurių metu buvo supakuotas ir į kalėjimą patupdytas Dekardas Šo (Jason‘as Statham‘as), automobilius dievinantys herojai apsiramino. Domas ir Letė (Michelle Rodriguez) mėgaujasi medaus mėnesiu, kiti kompanijos nariai irgi išsiskirstė kas sau. Tačiau tarsi griaustinis iš giedro dangaus užgriūva nauja grėsmė. Paslaptinga moteris, žinoma „Šifro“ slapyvardžiu (Charlize Theron), atrodo, užkeri Domą ir priverčia jį pasukti nusikaltėlio keliu. Ištikimieji bičiuliai yra įsitikinę, kad Domas tiesiog šantažuojamas. Kaip ten bebūtų, detektyvo Hobso (Dwayne‘as Johnson‘as) vadovaujama kompanija turės pasitelkti visus sąjungininkus (net ir tą patį Dekardą Šo), kad nugalėtų paslaptingąją moterį, atėmusią iš jų mylimą bičiulį.
