Buvęs jūrų pėstininkas ir specialusis agentas Robertas Makolas (aktorius Denzelis Washingtonas) trokšta vienintelio dalyko: ramybės. Siekdamas užsimiršti, Robertas išvyksta iš Amerikos ir apsigyvena pietų Italijoje. Nuostabi gamta bei geraširdžiai ir nuoširdūs vietos gyventojai Makolą veikia kaip vaistai.
