Ganesh Talkies is a 2013 Bengali film written and directed by Anjan Dutt. The movie is produced by Reliance Entertainment. It portrays two families of polar opposite Bengali and Marwari communities.

In 1870s India, Charulata is an isolated, artistically inclined woman who sees little of her busy journalist husband, Bhupati. Realizing that his wife is alienated and unhappy, he convinces his cousin, Amal, to spend time with Charulata and nourish her creative impulses. Amal is a fledgling poet himself, and he and Charulata bond over their shared love of art.

A proud businessman Mr. Roy Chowdhury (Dilip Roy) stayed with his wife Samta (Shakuntala Barua), his daughter Rupa (Satabdi Roy) and his son Bikram (Soumitra Banerjee) in a hill town. The villagers knew him as a cruel and heartless person. Rupa went to meet a poor guy Sanjib (Prosenjit). They fell in love with each other. Sanjib stayed in a slum area. By profession, he was a milkman. He stayed with his widowed mother (Sumitra Mukherjee). On the other side, Sanjib's neighbor Biree (Biplab Chatterjee) stayed with his son and sister-in-law Padma (Sunetra Bhattacherjee). Bikram tried to rape the Padma, but Sanjib saved her. When Mr. Roychowdhury came to know that his daughter Rupa loved a poor person he became angry and tried to separate them. On the other side, Sanjib told his mother about Rupa. When his mother came to know that Rupa was Mr Roychowdhury's daughter she warned Sabjib about Mr. Roychowdhury. On that day she told him about their past.

‘Preyashi’ is Sukanta’s story. Sukanta gives shelter to his father’s friend Bhudhar and his daughter Nandini. Sukanta and Nandini fall in love. Sukanta gets a job and goes out of station. But when he gets no news of Nandini and her father, he comes back and hears of Budhar’s death. Sukanata keeps searching Nandini but in vain. He gets transferred to Delhi where he catches Mr. Ganguly for corruption in railways. Nandini turns out to be Ganguly’s wife and begs Sukanta to set him free. Sukanta lies in court to save Ganguly. But he is shattered and becomes alcoholic. He meets Ranu, Nandini’s twin sister in Kashi who was forced into prostitution. Ranu falls in love with him. Ranu goes to Delhi to find her twin sister. But, Nandini cares for no one but her family. Sukanta overhears their conversation and decides to start his life again with Ranu.

The story revolves around Hutum, He belongs to a poor family. He supports his family by distributing newspapers in his locality. His friend Rajarshi who has a computer at home and is very conversant with the Internet world, including Facebook. Hutum, being a film fanatic and having no goals and ambitions in his life, spends most of his time daydreaming . Rajarshi gets Hutum hooked on to Facebook, to help him ease his troubled mind. Like most of the youngsters, on Facebook, Hutum`s dreamy eyes gets set on a girl from Delhi - Payel. Hutum and Payel get along very well which turns into an affair, Suddenly an incident throws all these haywire and Hutum is left all alone. He slowly goes out of control, and Hutum decides to go to Delhi. he breaks all barriers of logic and reason while he embarks on a journey to Delhi, on his bicycle, with whatever help he could get from his dear friend Rajarshi. What happens next is the crux of the film `FAKEBOOK`. How far can you go for love?

A group of college friends meet after twenty long years and plan a trip to Kolkata. The reunion leads to nostalgia and they end discussing one of their mentors who has been missing for twenty years. Surprisingly, on the same trip, the group happens to meet their mentor, who now works for poor and needy and leads a very simple and different life. To top that, one fine morning Anadibabu, an astrologer by passion and a friend of Shubho’s Thakurda, drops by with a prediction- Shubho’s stars say it’s time to get him married. And the bride, so he foretells, will be found from the matrimonial ads in the newspapers.
