Vincent van Gogh is de typische miskende, getormenteerde artiest. Zijn obsessie voor schilderen en zijn psychische problemen zorgen voor een ongelukkig leven vol mislukkingen. Hij krijgt enig respect van zijn collega-schilders, in het bijzonder Paul Gauguin, maar kan niet met hen overweg.
Guga is een begenadigd stemmenimitator en weet uit die gave al langer charmante comedy te puren. De maestroloog heeft echter nog andere pijlen op zijn boog. Geruggensteund door een fantastische live-band trekt hij nu volledig de muzikale kaart, met Radio Guga! Trouw aan zijn talent kruipt hij in de huid en het strottenhoofd van de meest uiteenlopende binnen- en buitenlandse muzikale grootheden. Je hebt geen budget, tijd en/of teletijdmachine nodig om concerten mee te maken van Jacques Brel, Bart Peeters, Jan De Wilde, Oscar & The Wolf, Tourist LeMC, Gorki, Mumford & Sons, Guido Belcanto, Elvis Presley, Herman Van Veen of De Kreuners. Radio Guga tovert ze allemaal schijnbaar moeiteloos voor u op het podium.
Een jongen met overgewicht die op school werd gepest, groeide op tot een geliefde komiek, volkskunstenaar Jope Ruonansuu. Hij was een veelzijdig entertainer, maar bovenal een impressionist, die ruim 150 karakters uit de heersende klasse kon imiteren. Jope's reis was een natuurlijk verlengstuk van de naoorlogse 'Rillumarei'-cultuur. Hij brak door toen het monoculturalisme op zijn levendigst was en in populariteit groeide toen het begon af te brokkelen. Met een afslankoperatie zocht Jope een gezonder leven, maar ook om de extra kilo's en kindertrauma's kwijt te raken. Na de operatie werd bij hem slokdarmkanker vastgesteld, maar hij bleef vechten en ontwikkelde een aantal verschillende projecten, waaronder een campagne tegen pesten samen met de president van Finland, Sauli Niinistö. Het project zou uitmonden in een gezamenlijk bezoek aan de Syväkangas-school, in Jope's geboorteplaats Kemi. Jope overleed al eerder, maar Niinistö hield zich aan zijn belofte.
