Christina Delasalle wordt slecht behandeld door haar man Michel, de sadistische directeur van een school in een Frans stadje. Ook de minnares van Michel heeft genoeg van zijn gedrag en de twee vrouwen besluiten hem samen te vermoorden.

Roddy, de eerste zoon van de rijke familie Berwick, wordt van school gestuurd als hij de schuld op zich neemt voor de aanklacht van zijn vriend Tim. Zijn familie stuurt hem weg en al zijn vrienden laten hem met rust. Door veel levenskeuzes die niet in zijn voordeel uitpakken, begint Roddy te merken dat zijn leven langzaam uit zijn hand loopt.

'The History Boys' vertelt het verhaal van een ongeregelde en ongedisciplineerde klas vol met grappige en slimme studenten geschiedenis. Heen en weer geslingerd tussen hun leraar Engels (Richard Griffith), een jonge leraar (Stephen Campbell Moore) die ingehuurd is om hun scores te verbeteren, een grotendeels uitgerangeerde lerares geschiedenis (Frances De La Tour) en een door regeltjes geobsedeerd schoolhoofd (Clive Merrison) trachten de jongeren hun schooltijd succesvol af te maken en vervolgens te slagen.

Drama gebaseerd op waargebeurde gebeurtenissen. Marie Stubbs, een kleine directrice uit Glasgow die de pensioengerechtigde leeftijd nadert, gaat nog een laatste uitdaging aan: het verbeteren van het lot van de St George's School in Noordwest-Londen, die op het punt stond te worden gesloten na de beruchte moord op de vorige directeur, Philip Lawrence, in 1995 toen hij een gevecht tussen zijn leerlingen en die van een rivaliserende school verbrak.

De actie speelt zich af in een jongensinternaat, gerund door een echtpaar. De man is een echte despoot en onderwerpt de vrouw voortdurend aan onhoudbare druk. Geconfronteerd met de weigering van echtscheiding, praat de vrouw met een vriend, ook een leraar, en ze stelt voor haar man te vermoorden, als de enige mogelijkheid om een einde te maken aan haar lijden. Bewerking van de roman die aanleiding gaf tot Clouzots klassieker 'The Diabolics' (1955).

Headmaster is an American half-hour television comedy-drama starring Andy Griffith and broadcast by CBS in the United States during the 1970-71 season. Headmaster marked the return to series television of Griffith, whose previous eponymous show had been one of CBS's major hits of the 1960s prior to his voluntary departure and a program which was still in production, when Headmaster was launched. With Headmaster, Griffith fulfilled his desire to be cast in a television series as something other than a rural bumpkin dispensing folksy wisdom; here his character, Andy Thompson, was the headmaster of a prestigious Californian private school, the Concord School. His wife, Margaret, was an English teacher; his best friend was the school's main athletic coach, Jerry Brownell. Mr. Purdy was the school's caretaker. Despite being aired in the Friday night 8:30 Eastern time slot vacated by the popular Hogan's Heroes, a theme song sung by Linda Ronstadt, and featuring arguably the biggest CBS star of the 1960s, Headmaster did not prove to be popular and was routinely beaten in the Nielsen ratings by both The Partridge Family on ABC and The Name of the Game on NBC. When this pattern became apparent, production of Headmaster was terminated, with the last first-run episode being broadcast January 1, 1971, and the program replaced by a new situation comedy starring Griffith, The New Andy Griffith Show. This replacement program met with little more success than Headmaster, and was last broadcast on May 21, 1971. In June 1971, Headmaster returned to the time slot in reruns, with the last repeat episode being aired on September 10, 1971.

GBH was a seven-part British television drama written by Alan Bleasdale shown in the summer of 1991 on Channel 4. The protagonists were Michael Murray, the Militant tendency-supporting Labour leader of a city council in the North of England and Jim Nelson, the headmaster of a school for disturbed children. The series was controversial partly because Murray appeared to be based on Derek Hatton, former Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council — in an interview in the G.B.H. DVD Bleasdale recounts an accidental meeting with Hatton before the series, who indicates that he has caught wind of Bleasdale's intentions but does not mind as long as the actor playing him is "handsome". In normal parlance, the initials "GBH" refer to the criminal charge of grievous bodily harm - however, the actual intent of the letters is that it is supposed to stand for Great British Holiday.

Hardwicke House is a 1987 British sitcom produced by Central Independent Television for ITV. Seven spisodes were made, but the series was so poorly received that only the first two were transmitted. In the large comprehensive school Hardwicke House, the staff of which are as dysfunctional as the pupils. One teacher is a multiple murderer while the deputy headmaster lusts after male pupils. One teacher, Moose Magnusson, is on an extended exchange placement because his own school in Iceland refuses to have him back.
