Een jonge maar slimme voormalige glazenwasser klimt naar de top van zijn bedrijf door het advies op te volgen van een boek over meedogenloze vooruitgang in het bedrijfsleven.

Sommige docenten doen maar wat. Elizabeth, bijvoorbeeld. Ze is meedogenloos, onaangepast en vloekt er op los. Ze drinkt, wordt regelmatig high en wil niets liever dan een rijke man aan de haak slaan, zodat ze kan stoppen met haar flutbaan. Als ze gedumpt wordt door haar verloofde, zet ze alles op alles om een rijke, knappe vervanger voor zich te winnen.

Bij een pompstation annex autowasstraat met grotendeels gekleurde werknemers komen de vreemdste klanten, zoals een rijke madam die bang is dat haar auto vies wordt en een TV-dominee voor het geloof in het geld. Daarnaast hebben de werknemers ook zo hun problemen.

Zo'n zestien uur per dag zit productieassistente Angela, oververmoeid en vloekend, achter het stuur van het busje waarmee ze het verkeersinfarct genaamd Boekarest te lijf gaat. Op de dag dat we haar volgen rijdt ze van hot naar her om 'audities' af te nemen van slachtoffers van bedrijfsongevallen. De uitverkorene mag tegen betaling figureren in een veiligheidsfilm. Angela's martelgang is de (in korrelig zwartwit gedraaide) rode draad die geregeld wordt doorsneden met scènes uit een Roemeense kleurenfilm uit 1981. Over een vrouwelijke taxichauffeur in datzelfde Boekarest, wier lotgevallen frappant parallel lopen met die van de productieassistente. En dan zijn er nog de TikTok-filmpjes waarin Angela, met behulp van een face filter, de rol aanneemt van de grofgebekte, seksistische Bobita.

In 'Office Christmas Party' dreigt de CEO van een familiebedrijf de afdeling van haar feestende broer Clay te sluiten. Clay en zijn technisch directeur roepen hun collega's bij elkaar en organiseren een groots kerstfeest in een poging om een potentiële klant te trekken dat moet leiden tot een verkoop waarmee ze hun baan kunnen redden.

En dan heb je ook nog die twee excentrieke drugsdealers, Jay en Silent Bob, die om de winkel hangen. Dit is geen gewone dag, dit vraagt om maatregelen.
