In de toekomst zijn regeringen en economieën over de hele wereld ingestort. Voedsel is schaars, NASA bestaat niet meer en de 20ste eeuw is de grote schuldige. Wanneer een mysterieus wormgat in de ruimtetijd opengaat is het aan een groep overblijvende onderzoekers van NASA om op verkenning te gaan en de mensheid hoop te bieden.
Nadat buitenaardse wezens op de aarde landen, wordt een taalkundige gerekruteerd door de Amerikaanse overheid om de bedoelingen van de wezens te ontcijferen. Terwijl ze de taal van de wezens begint te begrijpen, krijgt ze te maken met een aantal flashbacks.
De 21-jarige Tim Lake ontdekt na het zoveelste saaie onbevredigde nieuwsjaarfeestje dat hij kan tijdreizen. Tim kan de geschiedenis niet veranderen, maar wel de loop van zijn eigen leven. Aaron en Justin zijn twee broers die als tieners ontsnapten aan een sekte. Nadat zij een mysterieuze boodschap ontvangen, keren zij terug naar de sekte. In tegenstelling tot Justin, lijkt Aaron er helemaal geen moeite mee te hebben.

Door zijn knappe uiterlijk en charisma wordt Ryoichi meteen populair en begint hij zijn doel na te streven. Steeds meer mensen vallen voor hem en worden door hem gemanipuleerd en degenen die hem in de weg staan, worden al snel naar de zijlijn geduwd. Hoewel bijna de hele school onder zijn controle staat, is er één jongen die immuun is voor zijn vaardigheid: Seki. Nu is het aan hem om de anderen te bevrijden van Ryoichi"s controle.

Even after Misora uses her powers to reset the world back 3 days, Kei will retain those 3 days in his memory. Combining their powers, these two solve missions issued by the Kanrikyoku.
Out Of This World is an American fantasy sitcom about a teenage girl who is half alien, which gives her unique supernatural powers. It first aired in syndication from September 17, 1987 and ended on May 25, 1991. During its first season, the series was originally part of NBC's Prime Time Begins at 7:30 campaign, in which the network's owned-and-operated stations would run first-run sitcoms in the 7:30-8 pm time slot to counterprogram competing stations' game shows, sitcom reruns and other offerings. Out of This World was rotated with the original series Marblehead Manor and She's the Sheriff, a syndicated revival of the 1983 sitcom We Got It Made, and a television adaptation of the play You Can't Take It With You. NBC ended the experiment after the 1987-88 season due to the low ratings put up by three of the series, with Out of This World being one of the two that was renewed. After its first season the series was largely moved to weekend time slots, where it remained until its cancellation following the fourth season.
