Na een onverwacht oproep van haar voorouders, reist Vaiana samen met Maui en een nieuwe bemanning naar de verre zeeën van Oceanië en naar gevaarlijke, lang verloren wateren voor een avontuur dat ze nog nooit eerder heeft meegemaakt.

De wereld lijkt ten einde te lopen en wemelt van de overblijfselen van menselijke aanwezigheid. Cat is een solitair dier, maar omdat zijn thuis wordt verwoest door een grote overstroming, vindt hij onderdak op een boot die wordt bevolkt door verschillende soorten, en zal hij ondanks hun verschillen met hen moeten samenwerken. In de eenzame boot die door mystieke overstroomde landschappen vaart, navigeren ze door de uitdagingen en gevaren van aanpassing aan deze nieuwe wereld.

SpongeBob SquarePants leeft op de zeebodem in een grote ananas. Hij werkt in de fast-food branche bij de Krusty Krab diner. Wanneer de kroon van Koning Neptunes wordt gestolen is het aan SpongeBob om met z'n vriend Patrick Star hier iets aan te doen. Gebaseerd op de populaire Nickelodeon-serie.

De Keizerspinguïns op Antarctica zingen om partners aan te trekken. Helaas is Mumble de slechtst denkbare zanger. Dit probeert hij echter te compenseren met zijn uitzonderlijke tapdans-kwaliteiten.

De leider van een stel piraten, de Deacon valt één van die steden aan om een klein meisje te vangen, die een kaart naar het mythische 'Dry Land' op haar rug getatoeëerd schijnt te hebben.

Tijdens de Koude Oorlog wordt een Amerikaanse nucleaire onderzeeër aangevallen, en zinkt naar de bodem van de oceaan. De marine vraagt de hulp van een aantal mensen die aan het werk zijn op een nabijgelegen olieplatform om de onderzeeër te lokaliseren.

In deze film gaan Spongebob en zijn vrienden op een zoektocht naar een gestolen recept. Die brengt hen al snel naar onze dimensie, waar ze het aan de stok krijgen met een piraat. Hij heeft het recept gestolen.

De jonge Jenn spoelt aan op een tropisch eilandje waar ze niet lang daarna ontdekt dat ze niet alleen is. Nu komt het erop aan niet enkel te kunnen overleven met onder meer het vinden van voedsel. Gevaar dreigt voornamelijk in het donker wanneer Jenn elke nacht af te rekenen krijgt met een kwaadaardige kracht.

Ruby Kieuwmans is een lieve, onhandige meid van 16. Ze doet wanhopig haar best om erbij te horen op Oceanside High, maar meestal voelt ze zich onzichtbaar. Ze is smoorverliefd op een skaterboy die ze bijles geeft in wiskunde, maar hij bewondert alleen haar wiskundeknobbel. En Ruby kan ook niet met de coole kinderen mee naar het strand, want haar overbezorgde supermoeder heeft haar verboden om het water in te gaan.

Een oude voorspelling komt uit als de Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos en Moltres na eeuwen van harmonie worden verstoord. De natuurelementen raken uit hun evenwicht en het leven op aarde hangt af van de onwaarschijnlijke samenwerking tussen de mythische Pokémon Lugia en een mysterieuze 'uitverkorene' waarvan in de legende sprake is.

South Pacific is a British nature documentary series from the BBC Natural History Unit, which began airing on BBC Two on 10 May 2009. The six-part series surveys the natural history of the islands of the South Pacific region, including many of the coral atolls and New Zealand. It was filmed entirely in high-definition. South Pacific was co-produced by the Discovery Channel and the series producer was Huw Cordey. It is narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Filming took place over 18 months in a variety of remote locations around the Pacific including: Anuta, Banks Islands, French Frigate Shoals, Papua New Guinea, Palmyra, Kingman Reef, Tuvalu, Palau, Caroline Islands, Tuamotus and Tanna Island in Vanuatu. On 6 May 2009, BBC Worldwide released a short clip of big wave surfer Dylan Longbottom surfing in slow motion, high-definition footage as a preview of the series, attracting extremely positive reactions on the video sharing website YouTube. The series was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 15 June 2009. At the end of each fifty-minute episode, a ten-minute featurette takes a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of filming the series. The series was released by Discovery International in the USA under the title Wild Pacific, with narration provided by Mike Rowe.
