Een mysterieuze vrouw ontsnapt aan een verkeersongeluk met een tas vol geld, maar zonder haar geheugen. Ondertussen is Betty Elms in L.A. verschenen, in de hoop een filmcarrière te kunnen beginnen.

Een Frans clubkind wordt wakker na een avondje feesten en wil scoren, of dat nu met de nieuwste drugs is of met een romantische verovering. Op de terugweg naar huis ontmoet hij een ontsnapte patiënt die de loop van zijn leven verandert.

'Sucker Punch' speelt zich af in de jaren '50. Baby Doll (Emily Browning) wordt door haar kwaadaardige stiefvader naar een psychiatrische inrichting gestuurd. Zijn plan is om binnen vijf dagen lobotomie op haar toe te passen. Door de trauma's die ze er oploopt creëert ze haar eigen wereld waarin alles mogelijk is.
