Johnny Depp spiller Edward Scissorhands - en ensom person som lever alene i det gamle herskapshuset på høyden over byen. Han er resultatet av en vitenskapsmanns eksperimenter, en nesten ferdig - og nesten fulkommen - robot. En av de tingene som ikke er ferdig konstruert på Edward hendene. Fingrene er store sakseblader av metall. Hendene kan brukes enten som dødelige våpen, eller til å utføre de fineste presisjonsarbeider. En elskeliog dame oppdager Edward og tar den ensomme personen til seg og steller for han som sin sønn. I nabolaget blir fort Edward en spennende person som liver opp i husmødrenes kjedelige hverdag. Men hva befinner seg innenfor det konstruerte skallet. Edward kan tenke, men kan han føle?

Gymnas-eleven Sarah, føler seg utenfor og ensom på skolen, inntil hun blir kjent med Nancy, Bonnie og Rochelle. Sarahs nye venner er også "outsidere", og snart er alle fire knyttet sammen i et svært spesielt vennskap. De oppdager nemlig at de har magiske evner og at de sammen kan utføre heksekunster. Dette kommer godt med når regnskapet med skolen populære klikk skal gjøres opp...

Rose tar med seg datteren og reiser til den lille byen Silent Hill. Datteren plages av drømmer der byen stadig dukker opp, og moren håper drømmene skal forsvinne etter at de har besøkt byen. De krasjer underveis, og når Rose våkner har datteren forsvunnet. Hun må dermed undersøke den ubehaglige byen på egen hånd.

Sagaen fortsetter mens kampen raser mellom de aristokratiske Death Dealers (vampyrer) og de barbariske Lycanene (varulver).

Kindred: The Embraced is an American television series produced by John Leekley Productions and Spelling Television. The vampires survive through the "masquerade", disguising themselves as humans, and Julian strictly enforces the laws that govern them to protect their anonymity. Julian and Frank form an uneasy bond as they work together to try to prevent a vampire war and Julian struggles with his romantic feelings for human reporter Caitlin Byrne. The eight episodes of the series have been released on VHS and DVD.
