Abba Ganuv is the heart warming story of single father "chiko" Ben David - a struggling sailor and his only son Ben.

After Daniel travelled for a long period in Europe, he is coming back to his childhood home, in a small village in Israel. He wants to find Lilah, the woman of his life. Lilah, a former ballet teacher, has been paralyzed on her bed for three years. Daniel is going to commit something unbelievable out of love. The film deals with the conflict between religious tradition and the freedom to choose your fate.

The film takes place in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War in which Egypt and Syria launched attacks in Sinai and the Golan Heights. The story is told from the perspective of Israeli soldiers. We are led by Weinraub and his friend Ruso on a day that begins with quiet city streets, but ends with death, destruction and devastation of both body and mind. Various scenes are awash in the surreal, as Weinraub's head hangs out over a rescue helicopter's open door, watching with tranquil desperation as the earth passes beneath, the overpowering whir of the blades creating a hypnotic state. It is not a traditional blood, guts and glory film. There are no men in battle, only the rescue crew trying to pick up the broken pieces.

In July 1976, an Air France flight from Tel-Aviv to Paris via Athens was hijacked and forced to land in Entebbe, Uganda. The story is about two twin brothers, Azriel and Gavriel. Azriel is a shy, religious Jew who works in a fruit shop in Jaffa. Gavriel is a hoodlum and a good-for-nothing hustler who runs a snooker bar. Gavriel and his friend Hanuka make easy money by swindling people into gambling on snooker games. One day Gavriel is forced to renew contact with his brother because he is in trouble with a gangster.
