Based on Leida Tigane's fairy tale "The Crow cooks pea soup". The crow found a pea and wanted to cook soup. But one pea is not enough for that. The woodpecker advised her to plant a pea in the ground so that more of them would grow. The crow planted, and then began to boil water in a cauldron, waiting for the pea harvest to arrive soon. Various animals began to gather here, who also wanted to try the pea soup.

The film follows a handful of people with Russian roots living in Estonia who, unlike many of their compatriots, have found their way into the hearts of Estonians. How, and how much have they had to pay for it?
