Their aim is to propagate the communist ideology to the people and get the workers on their side. They have fierce discussions on the new ideas, though their movement is not very successful. They clash with their opposition, attempt to lead people to the Red Army, but without success.
A couple in love, but sadly married to other partners. What is to be done? A diagnosis of a comfortable but profoundly incapable society, a Hungary suffering from an endemic private life disorder, observable both among the urban middle and the rural lower classes. A descent into a relationship’s demise, more from the tired inertia of a country that has lost all direction and sense of purpose than any ill will.

The elderly Mikola Menyhért, former imperial and royal master detective, talks about the great criminals of a bygone era on television. He considers Ignác Sztrasznov to be the uncrowned king of swindlers, the greatest swindler of the Monarchy. To describe him, suffice it to say that at the age of 23, he sold the entire Vérmező to a Bulgarian horticulturalist, swindled money from lords, industrialists, and businessmen while dressed in a smart military uniform, and did not spare even the higher circles of the church. Mikola's narration brings Strasznov's adventures to life.
