“Duran” is a story about the reality of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian society, about the forgotten workers and the peasants, about abandoned generations who get fired in their 50s, about dreams, love and friendship, crimes and punishment.

Batan is the goalkeeper of the Zanatlija football club from Visoko, competing in the lowest-level town league of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their opponent in the game is the local rival which holds the top position and has the ambition to move to the next league, which would be secured with a victory over Zanatlija. The atmosphere is blazing hot and any silly move on the field is received by the supporters as a life-or-death event. However, although he's been keeping the goal of his team for 10 years, Batan, the hero of this story, doesn't find the result of the game all that important.

A TV crew visits the remote Bosnian village of Blervici to film their cooking show, drawn by its rustic charm. Their host, Meho, impresses them with a mysterious traditional dish. However, a sudden rainstorm traps them overnight, and they reluctantly accept Meho's hospitality. As they discover his dark secret, what began as a routine shoot turns into a fight for survival against an ancient evil.

This time, the favorite hero Chedo gets a new, not easy task. The director assigns him to host a famous director and organizes the recording of a dramatic play with amateur actors. Cheda's mission is clear - to find actors and prepare an audition. But, as always, nothing goes smoothly. Chedo goes around the village, offers work to neighbors and even his own wife. He encounters numerous rejections, disbelief and comical situations, but, with a lot of trouble and even more wit, he manages to gather a team of "talented" actors. The situation is further complicated by the appearance of new, suspicious characters in the village, who are also wanted by the police.

After a first date gone wrong, a young man seeks revenge against the girl, who had left with a gang leader. He hires an enforcer, unaware that he was also sought to eliminate the leader by his own gang.

Alen (30), a director from Bosnia, attends the unveiling of a plaque dedicated to his parents who were killed in a bombing of his hometown. At the end of June 2022, the football club Velež celebrates 100 years of existence. Velež is a club that during its existence went through numerous ups and downs, from the banning of the club, through the golden 70s and 80s of 1900s, to the abyss again during the Yugoslavian War.

The director's fascination is the parallel world which exists behind the doors of big shopping malls. It is as if behind those doors everyday human problems do not exist. Yet, as we spend money, we all have to go back, through the same door, back to reality.

He takes us from one child to another, opening up before us a picture of the bizarre life of children in Sarajevo.

The main role in this documentary film belongs to Sarajevo, not just as a city but as a metaphor for our times, when we are learning to live together, side by side, respectful of all our differences.

Following the promotion of his selected works, writer Edo Sokolija reveals to the young journalist the secret of his most famous work’s creation. Just as he once reconstructed a true tragic story from a forgotten proverb, now this fateful conversation brings him to the lifeline much like his own.
