Hauru no ugoku shiro este o animatie plina de neprevazut, al carei personaj principal este Sofî, o tanara frumoasa ce lucreaza in atelierul de palarii al mamei sale. Fiind blestemata de Vrajitoarea din Pustii, Sofî se transforma intr-o batrana garbovita, iar singura solutie pe care o vede este sa patrunda in casa vrajitorului Hauru, “zburatorul” din pricina caruia fusese vrajita. Ajungand in casa acestuia, ramane ca servitoare, imprietenindu-se cu Calcifer, focul jucaus ce promite sa o ajute sa revina la vechea ei infatisare. La finele unei aventuri primejdioase, ce-i pune insa la incercare curajul, Sofî va descoperi, prin intermediul fiintelor ce o vor inconjura, dragostea, in toate formele ei – pasionala, prieteneasca, maternala si filiala.

Ca să-și salveze cățelusul Toto de o vecină rea, Dorothy vrea să plece de acasă, dar se întoarce tocmai când o tornadă lovește ferma din Kansas și o transportă în lumea lui Oz. Pe drumul pavat de cărămizi galbene, fetița se âmprietenește cu trei personaje și pornesc împreună către orașul unde locuiește Marele Vrăjitor, fiecare cu câte o dorință. Numai că și aici, ca în orice țară de basm, există vrăjitoare și zâne, iar obstacolele nu sunt puține...

A young girl named Dorothy has gone to live with her grandparents on their small farm. One day when Dorothy is left alone in the house a tornado appears. Dorothy fails to get to the basement in time, and the entire house is picked up and transported to a magical land, falling on and killing a wicked witch. There she is informed by a good witch that she must travel to the Capital of Emerald and meet a great magician who may be able to help her find a way home. Along the way she makes some incredible friends and sees many strange and fantastic things.

Worzel Gummidge is a children's comedy series, produced by Southern Television for ITV, based on the books by Barbara Euphan Todd. Starting in 1979, the programme starred Jon Pertwee in the title role and ran for four series in the UK until 1981. Channel 4 reprised the show in 1987 as Worzel Gummidge Down Under, which was set in New Zealand.
