Matt, un tânăr glaciolog, zboară peste imensitatea tăcută și înghețată a Polului Sud, în timp ce își amintește de povestea de dragoste cu Lisa. Cei doi se întâlnesc la un concert rock aglomerat într-o sală de concerte imensă - Academia Brixton din Londra. La sfârșitul nopții, se trezesc în pat împreună. Timp de câteva luni, cei doi trăiesc o pasiune sexuală reciprocă, ale cărei etape inevitabile se desfășoară în contrapunct cu nouă melodii din concertul în direct.
