A film by an early British pioneer of computer generated filmmaking, Now foregrounds colour discs and other circular shapes, featuring both abstract and photographic imagery. Denys Irving was a musician – also known as Lucifer – and a member of London’s alternative scene in the late 1960s, early 1970s who collaborated with bands such as The Pink Floyd and Soft Machine and underground publications including the International Times and Oz magazine. It was during his time as a student in Columbia University in New York that he started working with computers. He also pioneered projection systems for psychedelic effects.

Jonathan Langran, then a young film student in 1960s London, films an evening escapade with friends including filmmakers David Larcher and Simon Hartog, which concludes with a meal in Dino’s restaurant. Although shot late at night, the streets of this cosmopolitan neighbourhood are bustling with activity.

Dream Houses is a 8mm color stop-motion animation that reflects the artist's engagement with the idealism and hope that modernism brought for the Indian middle class and the poor in the Nehruvian sixties. It has also been used in Utopia, Malani's first multiple-screen installation, wherein this film is projected adjacent to the film Utopia, shot after the artist moved to a basic apartment building in a suburb of Bombay. This format allowed her to juxtapose the idealism of the sixties with the later dystopia of urbanism in the seventies.

In the meeting between Bras and Norman Mc Laren, the latter explained to him his experiments with "drawn sound", how to intervene the optical sound track of 35mm film with black and transparent marks that then become noises. In this short film Bras generated small synthetic sounds synchronised with the images.
