Einar Wegener patrí k najlepším dánskym maliarom svojej doby, jeho žena Gerda mu pritom poskytuje maximálnu podporu a pritom sa sama snaží preraziť ako portrétistka. Postupné rúcanie ich harmonického vzťahu odštartuje banálna príhoda. Gerde nedorazí figurantka a Einar sa rozhodne, že svojej žene bude pózovať ako model oblečený do baletného kostýmu. Intenzívne spojenie so ženským elementom v Einarovi rozpúta obrovský emocionálny chaos. Behom tejto premeny ho verne sprevádza jeho Gerda, ktorá vďaka Lili, svojej novej múze, síce konečne prerazí ako umelkyňa, ale zároveň stratí svoju životnú lásku.

Susan Morrow, má všetko, po čom kedy túžila, a predsa sa ocitá v životnej pasci. Kurátorka galérie moderného umenia sa snaží svoju vnútornú prázdnotu vypĺňať vystavovaním šokujúcich exponátov a po nociach bdie v zlatej klietke, v luxusnom dome v L.A., z ktorého, občas asi aj pred ňou, nápadne často uniká jej partner. V jej osamelom svete dôjde k zásadnej zmene v okamihu, keď sa v škole stretne s novou učiteľkou Shebou Hart. Sheba sa zdá byť presne tou spriaznenou dušou a verným priateľom, akého Barbara vždy hľadala. Keď sa ale ukáže, že má Sheba vášnivý vzťah s jedným zo svojich mladých študentov, zmení sa ich vzájomné priateľstvo na nenávisť. The dictionary department is known internally as the "money-eating insect," but Mitsuya uses his perseverance and attachment to the words in order to become a great editor. Mitsuya, who has poor social skills, finds himself working with another man named Masashi Nishioka, who is able to express himself better.

The Joy of Painting was an American television show hosted by painter Bob Ross that taught its viewers techniques for landscape oil painting. Although Ross could complete a painting in half an hour, the intent of the show was not to teach viewers "speed painting". Rather, he intended for viewers to learn certain techniques within the time that the show was allotted. The show began on January 11, 1983, and lasted until May 17, 1994, a year before Ross' death.
