Sotva sa Marty spamätal zo svojej cesty do minulosti, objaví sa stroj času v podobe lietajúceho auta a jeho priateľ doktor Brown. V zhone naloží Martyho i jeho priateľku Jennifer a odletí s nimi do budúcnosti, do roku 2015, aby spoločne zachránili Martyho syna, ktorého partia výrastkov núti ku krádeži.
