Na ceste nebom musia obaja spoločne prekonať rôzne nástrahy, splniť úlohy a prekonať prekážky. Vznikne medzi nimi podivuhodné priateľstvo a na konci ich putovania na nich čaká veľké prekvapenie.

Vezme líšku späť do lesa, a hoci sa zranená líška uzdraví, pre dievča je to veľká lekcia. Príbeh je rámcovaný ako rozprávanie o matke, ktorou sa Bertille stala. Jej syn teraz býva v tej istej izbe ako kedysi ona a ona mu pred spaním rozpráva o svojom letnom priateľstve s líškou. Pôvabný príbeh sa odohráva v krásnom horskom prostredí.
