V ôsmom pokračovaní série MIssion: Impossible, čelí Ethan Hunt svojej doposiaľ najťažšej misii. Tentoraz ide o oveľa viac, ako si vyrovnať účty s dávnym nepriateľom Gabrielom. Musí zachrániť svet pred Entitou – mocnou umelou inteligenciou, ktorá bez zľutovania túži ovládnuť a mať pod kontrolou celý svet. Našťastie Ethan nie je sám. Jeho tím, ktorý prešiel viacerými zmenami, zohráva v tomto príbehu kľúčovú rolu. A práve zloženie tímu je jedným z mnohých prekvapení, ktoré si pre divákov pripravil režisér Christopher McQuarrie.

Po explózii reaktora v černobyľskej jadrovej elektrárni stovky ľudí obetovali svoje životy, aby vyčistili lokalitu a úspešne zabránili ešte väčšej katastrofe, ktorá by mohla premeniť veľkú časť európskeho kontinentu na neobývateľnú zónu. Jedným z nečakaných hrdinov sa stane Alexej Karpušin, hasič v elektrárni. Na nebezpečnej misii ho sprevádzajú inžinier Valerij Gončaruk a vojenský potápač, plukovník Boris Bobylin. Ich úlohou je vypustiť vodu z nádrže pod horiacim reaktorom. Nemajú čas na poriadnu a dostatočnú prípravu. Voda v zaplavených chodbách, ktorými budú musieť prejsť, je každou hodinou horúcejšia, pretože roztavené jadro reaktora k nim preniká čoraz bližšie. Traja muži sú pripravení obetovať vlastné životy, aby zabránili ešte väčšej katastrofe, a zostupujú čoraz nižšie do hlbín budovy, priamo pod horiaci reaktor...

Aká asi môže byť losangeleská tínedžerka s menom Poppy Mooreová? S takým menom sa asi sotva bude starať o opustené zvieratká a zbierať na ulici odpadky po bordelárskych spolužiakoch. Poppy je rozmaznaná potvora, s ktorou sú len samé problémy. Keď sa k nim má nasťahovať jej budúca macocha, pretože ju vlastná mama opustila bohatého manžela, dievča sa rozhodne všetky jej veci rozdať kamarátom. A to bola presne tá povestná posledná kvapka a jej otec sa rozhodne urobiť posledný krok - drastickú prevýchovu. V Morskom svete na Floride sa práve pripravuje slávnostné otvorenie nového „Podmorského kráľovstva“, kde pracujú Michael a Sean, synovia amitského policajného šéfa Martina Brodyho. Sieť priehľadných tunelov sa rozprestiera v celej lagúne a ponúka návštevníkom možnosť vidieť exotický podmorský svet na vlastné oči. Okrem toho je pripravená skvelá šou na vodných lyžiach a množstvo ďalších prekvapení. Je tu však ešte jedno prekvapenie, Nepozvaný hosť - malý žralok. Zamestnanci chcú mláďa vychovávať pod svojím dohľadom. Takmer súčasne sa však nájde telo muža, ktoré prezrádza, že cez porušenú morskú bránu, ktorá oddeľuje šíre more od morského parku, prenikol ďalší, oveľa väčší biely žralok. Od tohto okamžiku ide o život všetkých návštevníkov.

Pri potápaní objavia vrak lodi Goliáš, čo vzbudí pozornosť miestneho mafiána Henriho, keďže Goliáš sa potopil aj s obrovským nákladom morfia. David a Gail sa spoja s miestnym dobrodruhom, aby morfium za peniaze z lode vyzdvihli, v skutočnosti však hlbočina ukrýva ešte väčšie bohatstvo - vrak staršej lode so zlatým pokladom španielskeho kráľa Filipa. Pokusy o jeho získanie však budú životu nebezpečné, niektorí ľudia sa totiž pri honbe za bohatstvom nezastavia pred ničím...

Grantov asistent dal jednému z dievčat tip a na mieste sa nachádza aj potápačské vybavenie. Dievčatá sa ho rozhodnú použiť a ich podvodné dobrodružstvo sa môže začať. To sa však čoskoro tragicky zvrtne - dôjde k závalu, dievčatá uviaznu v zaplavenom jaskynnom labyrinte, dochádza im kyslík a čo je najhoršie, ocitnú sa v teritóriu dvoch slepých a veľmi hladných bielych žralokov.

Daniel Kintner a jeho priateľka Susan Watkinsová si konečne našli pár dní voľna na dovolenku. Najmä Susan je v poslednom čase veľmi zaneprázdnená a tesne pred odchodom stále rieši problémy s filmovým štábom... Keď Susan a Daniel dorazia na exotický ostrov, začnú si naplno užívať voľno. Prechádzajú sa po trhu a tešia sa na potápanie na druhý deň. Ráno je krásne počasie a inštruktor Davis dáva posledné pokyny rekreantom, účastníkom kurzu potápania. Daniel a Susan sa potom naplno venujú pozorovaniu podmorského sveta. Keď sa v určenom čase konečne vynoria, zistia, že ich loď už nie je nablízku. Na obzore vidia dve lode, ale ani jedna z nich nereaguje na ich vlny a volanie a Daniel im radí, aby sa k nim nepokúšali doplávať, aby nestratili príliš veľa energie. Výstroj, najmä fľaše naplnené kyslíkom, ich drží nad vodou a obaja mladí ľudia začínajú prežívať desivé hodiny uprostred vody, úplne bez pomoci a odkázaní jeden na druhého...

Descending is an exciting new weekly TV show now airing on Canada’s Outdoor Life Network, and featuring some stunning underwater video from around the world. Noting that so much of planet Earth is underwater and so few people get to see this realm firsthand, he said, “We knew it was important to shoot spectacular footage.” Wilson’s co-host is New Zealand diver Ellis Emmett, author, adventurer and friend. Emmett has penned five adventure books and is the owner of a New Zealand river rafting company. “I want people to be inspired, educated and enlightened, and have a laugh or two along the way,” he said. This year the hosts explore the underwater world on scuba, wearing full-face masks and dry suits. As post-production work continues on episodes scheduled to air in the coming weeks, they’re planning a switch to rebreathers, and even the occasional use of mixed gases in season two, officially not a go yet, but they’re hopeful! With government backing and the support of the Outdoor Life Network, Descending joins a long list of Canadian made underwater TV series that have found strong audience support.

The extraordinary lives of Jeju Island’s female free divers are brought to the surface by one of South Korea’s biggest television personalities – Song Ji-hyo. The television star undertakes her greatest challenge yet – free diving with the legendary Haenyeo. The celebrities perform each week in front of a panel of judges and a live audience in an Olympic-size diving pool with the result each week partly determined by public vote. Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay present the show, whilst Team GB Olympic Bronze Medal winning diver Tom Daley is the expert mentor to the celebrities. It is filmed at the Inspire: Luton Sports Village, which is based in Stopsley, Luton. The show premiered on ITV on Saturday 5 January 2013 winning the ratings battle for its 7.15pm-8.15pm slot with an average audience of 5.6 million viewers, a network share of 23.6%. Splash was the highest rating new entertainment series on ITV for five years. The format for the show originated from the Celebrity Splash! franchise created by television production company Eyeworks in the Netherlands, and was broadcast on SBS 6 as Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag. A US version, under the title Splash, premiered on 19 March 2013 from the Riverside Aquatics Complex at Riverside City College and Pasadena's Rose Bowl Aquatics Center on ABC television. The US version features 2012 Olympic 10 m diving champion David Boudia and American diving legend Greg Louganis as judges. The Seven Network in Australia have also commissioned Celebrity Splash! which will air in 2013.
