Ambiciozna novinarka (Jane Fonda) je sredi poročanja o novi pridobitvi priča napaki v jedrski elektrarni, vendar odgovorni dogodku ne pripisujejo prav nobene nevarnosti. Njen kolega, snemalec (Michael Douglas) s kamero skrivaj zabeleži dogodek in kmalu postane jasno, da je skoraj prišlo do katastrofalne odpovedi reaktorja, ki se lahko celo kadarkoli ponovi. A mysterious radiation leak in the Baku area places part of the city under complete quarantine. An explosion in an underground laboratory hidden since Soviet times turns the zone into both a dangerous area and an attractive hub for illegal business. Evacuation is impossible, and the territory is fully sealed. While scientists struggle to contain the radiation, criminal networks establish a new balance of power through the smuggling of an unknown substance.
