เดวิด ไร้ซ์ (เฮย์เด้น คริสเตนเซ่น)เติบใหญ่ขึ้นมาพร้อมกับความสามารถพิเศษที่ใคร ๆ ต่างก็อยากมี เขาเคลื่อนที่ไปยังที่ใดในโลกก็ได้ดังใจปรารถนาโดยอาสัยช่องโหว่ของกาลเวลาก้าวจากที่หนึ่งไปยังตึกใดก็ได้ ไปยังเมืองใดก็ได้ เพียงพริบตาเดียวเขาก็ “โดดกระชากมิติ” จากซีกโลกหนึ่งไปยังอีกซีกโลกหนึ่ง แล้วก็กลับมายังจุดเดิมได้ดังใจสั่งเลย เย็นวันเดียวกันเขาปรารถนาจะชมพระอาทิตย์ลับขอบฟ้าสัก 20 ครั้งก็ไม่ใช่เรื่องลำบาก เช้าวันไหนอยากไปรับประทานอาหารเช้าบนยอดสฟิงซ์ในอียิปต์ก็ไม่ยาก แล้วจะขึ้นกระดานเซิร์ฟโต้คลื่นที่ออสเตรเลีย ทั้งวันก็ย่อมได้ พลบค่ำก็ดื่มด่ำกับบรรยากาศดินเนอร์สุดหรูในกรุงปารีส ก่อนจะไปตบท้ายของหวานที่ญี่ปุ่น ก็สบาย ๆ เขายังโดดทะลุกำแพงเข้าไปยังเซฟของธนาคาร และห้องลับสุดยอดที่ไหนก็ได้ แต่เขาก็ได้อาศัยความสามารถพิเศษนี่แหละพยายามหนีให้พ้นอดีตอันขมขื่น, ตักตวงหาผลประโยชน์จากความสามารถพิเศษอย่างเต็มที่, และไม่คิดจะพึ่งพาใครทั้งสิ้น เขาไม่เคยล่วงรู้ถึงขอบเขตหรือข้อจำกัดของความสามารถพิเศษนี้มาก่อน หรือแม้แต่พันธะที่จะตามมากับมันด้วยซ้ำ จนกระทั่งบัดนี้

YTMT ดำเนินเรื่องแบบ Road Movie ตะลอนไปทั่วสนุกให้เต็มที่ อย่าได้กั๊ก อย่าได้เหนียม คิดสัปดนอะไรกันก็เอาให้มันกันสุดๆ ปล่อยใจกันให้เต็มที่ ไม่ต้องกลัวว่าจะขัดแย้งใดใด ด่าพ่อ ล่อแม่ เอาแฟนเพื่อน มีอะไรก็พูดกันออกมาให้หมด และหนังก็บิวท์ๆๆๆตัวละครจนปรอทแตกในตอนจบ พร้อมกับประโยคคมๆ ว่า Life is like the surf, so give yourself away like the sea.? สุดท้ายสติคืนกลับมา พร้อมกับได้มุมมองใหม่ อารมณ์ใหม่ และก้าวข้ามชีวิตไปอีก 1 ขั้น

เรื่องราวของ อดัม สติฟเลอร์ ญาติผู้น้องของแมทและสตีฟจากภาคที่แล้ว หมอนี่กำลังคิดแผนแปลกๆ เพื่อสร้างชื่อเสียง (รึชื่อเสีย) ให้สมกับเป็นคนในตระกูล สติฟเลอร์ ด้วยการเป็นโต้โผจัดวิ่งแก้ผ้าขึ้นในวิทยาลัยของตัวเอง
