"Retro Boom" is a documentary film shot in the period from 2013 to 2019, before COVID-19 pandemic. Filming takes place in the clubs: Vintage industrial Bar, Route 66, Pepermint, KSET, Johann Franck (all in Zagreb) and festivals in Medulin (Tear it up) , Zagreb (Zagreb Vintage Festival), Sveti Martin na Muri (Trash'n'burn). It is a film that brings a cross-section of an interesting retro scene that has existed in Croatia for years. In the last ten years, the vintage (retro) scene has expanded greatly among the young and among the middle generation, it can almost be said that it has become fashionable, but by no means mainstream. The film follows original rockabilly and rock'n'roll bands, fashion, clothes, pin-up girls, barbers, old furniture, old items, motorbikes and a lot more – all of it gathered through interviews and events of the past years.

This comedy of the absurd is set in the Nazi puppet Independent State of Croatia (NDH) during World War II. The hero, Ljiljan is a young peasant poet who joins the Partisan movement just before it falls apart, abandoned by its leader Tito. The last remaining hope for resisting Nazism is to assassinate Hitler. Ljiljan’s task is to write a song that will allow his Partisan band to infiltrate the inner sanctum of the SS – by entering an SS talent show. If they win the competition, they will be invited to perform before Hitler and the NDH’s high command. This is a satirical coming-of-age tale with a difference, capturing the craziness, comedy and horror of war in the Balkans.

The main focus of the story is a young girl, Maša Artuković, allegedly possessed by Satan, whose deteriorating state results in the arrival of Viktor Supilo, a priest who is to conduct the rite of exorcism upon her. The ritual is to be performed in the presence of Maša's sister Vera, a known psychiatrist Sofija and an unannounced crew of TV reporters that want to expose exorcism as a controversial and dangerous ritual that has no place in the modern Catholic Church.
