Israeli film director Asher TIalim, originally from Tangier, Morocco, poses a question to all of us, even those apparently not directly affected: What do we - the generation after - have to do with the Holocaust? Focusing on the Akko Theater Center's award-winning performance, ARBEIT MACHT FREI, also featured in the German documentary, BALAGAN (see listing), he documents the actors as well as the audiences over a three-year period, scrutinizing their souls. Tlalim travels with the Israeli actors to Morocco, to the Czech Republic and finally to Germany, where they compare one society that chooses to remember with one that chooses to forget.

Aqabat-Jaber is one of the sixty Palestinian refugee camps built in the Middle East by the UN at the beginning of the 1950s. Filmed in 1987, a few months before the Intifada, this film tells the story of a disinherited generation brought up in the nostalgia of places they never knew and which no longer exist. The story of a temporary solution that became a permanent way of life.

"Mom and Dad, I have something to tell you" is a documentary film about the journey parents whose children tell them they are gay are forced to take. Through the film different stories of different families and their different reactions are shown with great honesty. Some of them are optimistic, some heartbreaking, but all reveal a much bigger fact of life: that the love of parents to their children is stronger than any other thing. The movie, which is emotional and sensitive, is lead by Assi Azar, one of the rising TV stars in Israel, a screen writer and the host of the Israeli version of "Big Brother". His personal story is unfolded, including a heart to heart conversation between Assi and his parents, for the first time since he came out when he was 24.

A young Iraqi journalist sets out to write about Linda Abdul Aziz, who escaped to Israel in the early 70's and whose father, a prominent lawyer, had been kidnapped in Baghdad. The continuous dialog between the two, slowly uncovers the tragic end of her father, as well as that of a whole Jewish community that thrived in Iraq for over 2000 year.
