This film about the Baltic nation of Lithuania from 1989 to 1991, when it broke away from the Soviet Union. This period of peaceful protests involving lots of singing came to be known as the "singing revolution."

A man who is apathetic about life spends his days in seclusion. He is detached from communication and contact with the outside world. An empty and deserted room demonstrates his detachment from his surroundings, his inner world. Suddenly a woman appears in his world. She brings her strange stories into his world. In a language that the man does not understand, she tries to communicate with him, trying to tell him that everything that is broken can be put back together, the cracks will remain as scars, but with them we can continue our journey. By changing the interior he lives in and his inner world, she makes him interested in life. She makes a man interested in her and in himself.

Two friends wander around a Soviet-era neighbourhood in the outskirts of Vilnius. An airport is going to be built here soon, and the place where they grew up will cease to exist. This thoughtful, post-dramatic film shot by director and cinematographer Vytautas Katkus is an inquiry into the psychogeography of post-Soviet Lithuania.

Three young girls decide to enlist for military service in Lithuania. The girls live and train among 600 men at an isolated military base for 9 months. A feminine perspective without morality or complacency on how we can live together in a masculine world.

Lonely Lithuanian teenager Rokas, whose mother works abroad, is trying to rise above his depressing post-socialist housing block by singing in a choir. His only refuge – his voice – quickly turns into a threat, as local gangs hunt him for being branded a snitch.

After his girlfriends' suicide, Gediminas moves back to his single mother living in a block of flats opposite Kaseta's home. In his attempt to make himself oblivious, the young man works as a taxi driver at night. Grief, self-reproach, mother's alcoholism and illness (epilepsy), pestering and cynicism of the clients picked up from night clubs toss Gediminas into an emotional abyss. The painful experience dissolve the tiny bits of his fragile wish to live. He visits a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a self-group for families of suicides, but one day he breaks down. At a crucial moment, the old Kaseta spots Gediminas through his telescope.

A Lithuanian doctor, priest and a war refugee Alexander Ferdinand Bendoraitis (1919-1998) resettles to the Amazonian jungle in the 1960’s and becomes a local hero: he establishes a boat- clinic network, the first jungle radio, starts the pacification of local indigenous tribes and builds the most modern hospital in Amazonia. However, as he gets involved in a brutal crime, countless fake narratives that he had created around himself begin to resurface.

In this experimental documentary, film director Algimantas Maceina reveals the theme of the exile of Lithuanian society from a very personal perspective. He films the repatriation of the remains of his grandfather from Siberia to Lithuania. This personal approach to societal tragedy – the genocide caused by the Soviet regime – links personal to collective memory and erases the boundaries between personal film archives and publicly acknowledged films.

The author Jurga Ivanauskaitė (1961-2007) was considered a pioneer of contemporary Baltic literature well beyond the borders of Lithuania. Her work deals intensively with the tension between religion, sexuality and emancipation. Film documents and interviews serve to reconstruct the life of this independent and willful woman - from her childhood to her artistic breakthrough as a companion of the Lithuanian rock and punk scene, but also depicting her spiritual side, which brought her all the way to India, where she turned to Buddhism. She is shown as fighting for the Dalai Lama and a "free Tibet", shown as a literary mind, but first and foremost she is shown as a woman who stood bravely in the face of inconvenience, pain and inner demons.

On the surface, Arnas, Davis, Kuisis and Robertas are ordinary, unremarkable guys, but they have a secret hobby - pretending to be Aras officers, punishing those who evade justice and helping those who need help the most. One day, things take an unexpected turn when, after a routine and successful "mission", the friends get caught up in a real-life robbery that ends tragically. Realising that they can't continue to deliver justice so easily, the foursome is faced with the difficult dilemma of whether to quit or to keep going and risk falling into the hands of the real cops.

On May 1, 2004, about half a dozen children were born in Lithuania. Their arrival in this world coincided with the accession of Lithuania to the European Union. At the initiative of director Arūnas Matelis, the creative group that recorded the birth of many babies returned to some of the heroes every few times. After 20 years, the director Eimantas Belickas together with the author of the script Ramune Rakauskaite chose the brightest, outstanding young people who already have something to say about their first steps upon reaching adulthood. This is a picture of the first EU generation in Lithuania.
