A daughter tries to organise her deceased mother’s funeral during the pandemic. Despite her efforts to stick to the tradition as much as possible in order to avoid malicious gossip from the relatives, the wake spirals into chaos.

“Code of Tumas ” is an effort to show the well-known events and processes of history through the eyes of a direct person with a subjective and emotional look. Letters, publicism, all creations of Juozas Tumas Vaižgantas, also memories of his contemporaries make this reconstruction possible.

The film features an incredibly low angel’s flight over the dunes of Nida, Trakai castle, the lakes of Aukstaitija (Highlands), the roofs of the Old Town of Vilnius and the fantastically beautiful church steeples. It’s like a mystical gliding just above the treetops, meadows covered by early morning mist, as well as the narrow streets of Vilnius.

After a long time away from the homeland, father and son are destined to visit. However, such place doesn't exist and no one's even heard of it. Suddenly a strange bus appears, going to this place. Father and son are its only passengers. After a long trip, the bus arrives at a peculiar place with no houses, no people, no nature, and no land... only white mountains standing there like a blank, empty page.

The film is a portraiture of an old farmer at work doing his daily chores in an area that is completely flooded. The situation is catastrophic, but for the man it is only one of the many floods he has experienced in his life.

Audrius Mickevičius puts the horribly disfigured face of his murdered brother at the start of his film. It is almost a meditation about the question whether a final act like murder can be atoned for in a temporal order – and whether the passing of time allows the victim’s family to forgive. Mickevičius uses the example of two lifers (one of them gets married and wants to have children, the other pours his whole passion into an idea of craftsmanship) and a philosopher with prison experience to make that strange state of suspended life comprehensible.
