An artistic documentary movie about Lithuanian ethnoculture. In "Semme" the ethnoculture is brought to light through the beauty of nature, folklore and believes of ancestors. The main emphasis is on the Baltic heritage. Three main characters of "Semme" are eager to preserve the old ethnocultural traditions: cartographer Tadas Sidiskis, pagan priest Jonas Trinkunas, folk craftsmen Algirdas Verseckas. The main purpose of "Semme" is to reveal the alternative views to the old traditions and the national identity. Movie will show trip to old forest, pagan customs and offerings, medieval crafts.

When creating the film “Only a Trace Remains,” a connection was established between the film and soil fungi, without the authors expecting to receive any specific results in return. However, the microorganisms were generous. Although part of the film is no longer on the reel, its traces continue to circulate in the ecological system. How can this complex connection be described?

Gustas (25) jumps out of Karolis’ (25) moving car – as if trying to escape a dream. He acts strangely and begs to be woken up. Karolis puts him back in the car. Karolis’ sister Milda (23) joins them. Gustas calls his sister – no answer. The three end up in an underground club. The music hypnotizes Gustas. He calls again – still no answer. Later, Milda and Gustas return to his home. In bed lies his sister’s lifeless body. Milda is shocked. Gustas calmly says, “Don’t worry. It’s just a dream.”

The theme of the film is “naiveté”. I do understand “naiveté” as an initial state to be creative for any beginner in any field of arts. Without naiveté any young person, probably, would not choose to be an artist, so to be condemned for potential failure.

Emilija Škarnulytė’s immersive installation is inspired by the Kaunas Tadas Ivanauskas Zoological Museum’s displays. For her performative, cinematic piece she brings together the poetic and scientific to create a sensory experience that investigates the philosophical concept of Deep Time and events on a geological scale. This story of survival through time, unfolds with the choreography of artificial lights and sounds. Škarnulytė’s work evokes time travel and can be understood as a form of archeology of the future. Here, she investigates the unknown, including pre- and post-human evolution and adaptation, the current intersecting structures of power and the devastating effects of climate change.
