When his car breaks down out in the country, Sniffles the mouse takes shelter in an old mill, where he meets up with "Batty," a non-stop-talking little bat who later save Sniffles from a hungry cat.

Woody Woodpecker is driving through the countryside and is, shall we say, not a stickler for the rules. He's practically asking for trouble when he confronts a traffic cop who explains he is looking for speeders. Woody reveals himself to be a speeder by driving to Alaska and back in less than a minute. The cop tries to arrest him but Woody states, "I bet ya wouldn't be so tough without that uniform." The officer undresses but Woody attacks him with a boxing glove camera. Woody also gets his goat by dressing as a farmer on horse-and-buggy and as a Chinaboy with rickshaw. Finally, the cop flips out and is sent to a mental hospital with Woody as his caretaker.

This accidentally leads Hornleigh and Sergeant Bingham (Alastair Sim) to a nest of fifth columnists when his dim-witted assistant carelessly talks to a girl in the cafeteria – and that night, news of Hornleigh and Bingham’s arrival is embarrassingly transmitted back to Germany.

Following the fall of Poland, Radetzky and Irish pilot, Mike, escape to Rumania and then on to America. Radetzky continues his musical career in America and meets up again with Carole.

A traitorous businessman conspires with commanding officers to sell military supplies to the enemy. The plan is discovered by a group of poor but righteous people led by Lui Pang (Cheung Ying), who join hands with the guerrilla group to foil the plot. While making a harsh statement on those who exploited the national crisis to get rich, Tang Xiaodan portrayed vividly the sorrow and joy of the working class as well as an altruistic utopianism. The film begins with a song by Leung Mo-sik that describes the severity of war and the hardships endured by common people, intercut with real footages from war zones. The anti-war sentiment of the film is less political in nature and imbued with grave and genuine concern for the poor.
