Hayley, a teenager who works at a video store in the 90s, needs help learning how to be a good lesbian. She takes inspiration from films, but has difficulty finding real queer role models. How can Hayley become the best lesbian she can be without on-screen examples? With the help of her friends, Hayley must find a way to become herself, accept her sexuality and impress the girl of her dreams.
