Valery Gergiev directs the Kirov Opera and Ballet in this magnificent 1998 production of Borodin’s epic Prince Igor, presented in a new Mariinsky Theatre performing edition and featuring Mikhail Fokine’s original choreography in the famous Polovtsian Dances. Its four acts tell of the struggle between the Russians and Polovtsian nomads, of Prince Igor’s capture and escape from his noble opponent, Khan Konchak, and of love between Igor’s son, Vladimir, and Konchak’s daughter, Konchakovna.

Little Brother, Little Sister tells the story of the Lows, an Australian family living in Sydney, who adopt Ethiopian orphan brother and sister, Sisay and Eleni. They already have two teenage boys — one is their biological son and the other was adopted as a baby from Papua New Guinea.

This film was taped at the Lifestyles Convention '98 in Las Vegas.

Entirely hand-processed and hand-painted, this film evokes a series of fantasy maps and visited imaginary 'sites'. The process of the film can be interpreted as the content of the film, but metaphorically it depicts the impossibility of concretely mapping disease in the human body.

A father and his son appear out of nowhere and break the routine of a village lost between the mountains of Honduras. They ask for a place to stay and show the owners' of the house a strange artifact that reproduces sounds which they had not heard before, but bewitches them with pleasure.

1998 Dutch Experimental Film

This concert film of Canadian songbird Anne Murray comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are neither closed-captions nor subtitles on this release. The supplemental materials include production credits and a biography of Murray. In addition to performing her most popular hits, Murray duets with fellow Canadians Bryan Adams and Celine Dion. Murray's fans will certainly want to give this disc a look.

A documentary that chronicles the final hours of Chilean president Salvador Allende, deposed by a military coup on 11 September, 1973 by General Augusto Pinochet, his chosen Commander-in-Chief of the Chilean Army. The film interviews the people who were trapped in the presidential palace during the attacks and some military who part of the initial strike that led to the military government for a decade.
