In Mongolia, a third of the population lives in poverty. Is that why the suicide rate is so high? Suicide survivors and family members of those who have taken their lives relate their circumstances, far removed from the freedoms of traditional nomadic life. Not all of them wish to be identifiable in the film; suicide is a taboo. In the darkness, a teenager whispers emotionally about her brother’s suicide and a couple who lives off selling scrap metal tells a story of their son’s survival. The stories come from different parts of the country, but everywhere the reasons given for suicide are similar: hopelessness, unemployment, loneliness and harshness of life.

"I always feel helpless watching how we human beings destroy nature to satisfy our ever-increasing consumption. We all act as if we have no choice but to consume more and more. In the harsh winter of Inner Mongolia, two young men, Aoqi and Chaligan, spend their days trapped in a dim, cramped room. In 2012, after my grandfather passed away, my grandmother left the deserted village where she had lived for nearly half a century and moved to a strange county town. The next year, she was shocked to hear that her homeland would be leveled within two days - her "old world" was thus completely destroyed. After that, she spent a long time alone, often accompanied by her sick second daughter, and more often by an old TV and a deck of cards. When the wind blows, she dreams of the sunset, sheep, green grass, and curling smoke in her hometown. Every year, I go back with a camera to record her homesickness that has nowhere to go, listen to her reminiscences, and also take pictures of my childhood hometown that has also disappeared.
Recently, strange and inexplicable things have begun to happen in the life of the girl Aminaa. Mysterious figures appear in her dreams, nightmares become more intense, and an evil spirit threatens her life by sucking her vital energy. Every time she wakes up, she knows it was a dream, but the fear remains deep in her heart as if it were real. Aminaa no longer distinguishes between dreams and real life, and becomes more and more confused. Her parents become strange and mysterious, start doing things they never did before, and act as if they are hiding something from Aminaa. However, Aminaa does not give up. In order to escape the nightmare, she needs to remember her past. But she does not remember anything, she has no sense of time. Will she remember her past?.
