The End is an adult comedy television strand on Network Two/RTÉ Two in the Republic of Ireland. The End was aired on Friday and Saturday night from 11pm to 2am. RTÉ used this show to test the audience appetite for late night TV. The End was presented by Barry Murphy on Friday nights and by Sean Moncrieff on Saturday nights. The End had a cult following of "drunks and teenagers" who would often ring into the show leaving bizarre late night messages for the presenters. Sean Moncrieff would be joined by a puppet called Septic in later seasons. Barry Murphy would use The End to launch many of his Apres Match characters such as Frank Stapleton. Sean Moncrieff would get a new chat show on RTE One called Good Grief Moncrieff, however this wasn't a success due in part to the conservative and mainstream RTE One audience. Later he would go on to present the RTE Two series Don't Feed the Gondolas.

Marketplace is an RTÉ Television current affairs programme noted for its in-depth analysis of political, business and financial matters. It was first broadcast on 3 October 1987 and was presented at various times by Patrick Kinsella, Gavin Duffy, Gary Agnew, Miriam O'Callaghan, Ingrid Miley and George Lee. Marketplace was broadcast for the last time on 3 April 1996.

The Model Scouts, called The Model Agent during its first season in 2009, is an Irish reality documentary on RTÉ Two that follows twelve girls competing for a lucrative modelling contract. In 2009 the series followed model scout Fiona Ellis on her search for an Irish supermodel. On her way through Ireland, Ellis spotted eight girls in the entire country and chose the last four of the twelve finalists through applications that she received. Each episode saw the elimination of one or more girls. The winner, Carrie-Anne Burton, won a contract with the Independent Models agency and a cover of Image magazine. Supermodel Erin O'Connor, who was also discovered by Ellis at the beginning of her career, advised the girls. Ellis said that, in contrast to America's Next Top Model, her aim is to rather give an insight in finding new model talent with serious ambitions without "all the drama". In 2010, Jeni Rose and David Cunningham of IMG Models were the judges. The girls were taken to London, Paris, Sydney and New York. The winner, Tabea Weyrauch, was a 16-year-old girl from Derry. She won a one-year contract with IMG, became the face of A{{|}}Wear in Ireland and the United Kingdom, and appeared on the cover of Life, the magazine section of the Sunday Independent.

Baz's Culture Clash is a six-part Irish television series. The presenter, Bazil Ashmawy, of half Egyptian parentage, spoke of this as his next television project on The Podge and Rodge Show on 21 October 2008 as he was filming the series. It is his first solo television show, having previously starred in How Low Can You Go? with Michael Hayes and Mark O'Neill. He had begun filming in September 2008 and finished the following April. He travelled the world to film the show. It was aired on RTÉ Television during September and October 2009. It was initially expected to be aired in March 2009. Paili Meek produced and Barry Egan directed. The series commenced broadcasting on 14 September 2009. A second series is on the way. Ashmawy visits a coven of witches in Kells, County Meath during one episode and undergoes hypnosis there to allow him to meet his Egyptian ancestors. He also visits a haunted house with a group called "Leinster Paranormal". He also teams up with a group of ghostbusters to visit the haunted Carlow Shopping Centre where a little girl and some former prisoners from the old county gaol are among the ghosts which are said to haunt the building. The episode in the shopping centre was filmed at night and in one incident a member of Ashmawy's film crew collapses without explanation when his body is invaded. In another episode Ashmawy meets a man who diets on roadkill, including badgers and cats.

Mission Beach USA is a Reality Television series produced for RTÉ by Rival Media for RTÉ's youth strand TRTÉ which airs on RTÉ Two. It is based on the BBC Switch format of the same name, which aired in 2008. Eight Irish teens head for Fort Lauderdale to train to be US lifeguards. Over the course of 3 weeks they join a group of American Teens who are training to be lifeguards. The course coach is Chris Hoch. A second series is set to begin before the end of 2011 and has 8 new Irish teens. Season 2 was filmed in July 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Irish teams are made up of:

Ice was an Irish weekday television programme for young persons broadcast on RTÉ Two. Presenters are Brian Ormond, Sinéad Kennedy and Rob Ross. This was one of only two shows Ormond has presented. Pop singer Miley Cyrus was interviewed on the show by Kennedy and Ross on 21 December 2009. The show ended its run on 28 May, 2010. Each year in the Christmas season the show hosted a circus themed show. Ormond was the circus ring master while Ross and Kennedy picked kids from across the country with various talents to be on their team each.

Smoke and Mirrors is an Irish comedy cabaret television show airing on RTÉ Two each Monday night at 22:00. Launched on 1 December 2008, it is presented by the stand-up comedian Andrew Maxwell. RTÉ describes the series as "an eclectic mix of stand-up comedy and vaudeville acts". The series draws on Maxwell's live stage show, titled The Fullmooners. Alongside Maxwell's stand-up there are performances by a number of his stage show regulars such as Lady Carol of the Moontacula, described as "a jazzy blues queen who sings rock covers while playing a ukulele". As well as this spectacle there are also breakdancers and other non-Maxwellian stand-up comedians such as Britain's Adam Bloom, Craig Campbell, and Glenn Wool and Australia's Steve Hughes. The series is produced by Happy Endings Productions, the company behind The Panel.

The Lucy Kennedy Show is an Irish chat show hosted by Lucy Kennedy. Her father, John Kennedy, accompanies her in studio, where he performs the role of pianist. Each episode involves Lucy Kennedy interviewing two guests and dressing up as a well-known personality to perform a sketch. It began airing on 6 January 2009. In the first episode, Kennedy interviewed her fellow chat show presenter Ryan Tubridy and professional comedian PJ Gallagher. Gallagher displayed his boxer shorts and Tubridy revealed an addiction to a certain confectionery. Kennedy dressed up as singer Amy Winehouse to perform a sketch alongside the pretendedly dimwitted Bryan Dobson. Kennedy has described her show as "Livin' with Lucy in a studio" and "a bit like The Charlotte Church Show gone wrong". She is currently co-presenting with COLIN hayes.

Gerry Ryan Tonight is an Irish chat show hosted by Gerry Ryan that aired for three series on Network 2 between 1995 and 1997. The studio-based show featured guest interviews and live music. Gerry Ryan Tonight aired twice weekly for the first season and once a week for all subsequent seasons.

Katherine Lynch's Wonderwomen is a six-part Irish comedy television programme broadcast on RTÉ Two. It stars comedienne Katherine Lynch, who also co-wrote and co-produced the series alongside Warren Meyler. It was the first production by WAKA TV, a company established by Lynch and Myler to produce television series.

No Disco is RTÉ's former flagship music TV program, broadcast on Irish TV channel, Network 2, from 1993 to 2003. It was presented by Donal Dineen, Uaneen Fitzsimons and, following the death of Fitzsimons, Lawrence "Leagues" O'Toole.

The Raw Sessions is an Irish interactive music television programme broadcast on RTÉ Two in 2009. The country's first ever rockumentary series, it is presented by Dez Ryan and follows the attempts of eight musical acts to write and record an original composition in the space of twelve hours. It is produced by Lotus Media. The Raw Sessions commenced broadcast on 12 May 2009. Episodes are broadcast late on Tuesday nights and repeated late on Saturday nights. Each week the two recorded tracks are made available for download, with downloads counting towards the Irish Singles Chart. Tracks were recorded in destinations such as Sun Studios in Temple Bar, Dublin, Windmill Lane Studios on Ringsend Road, Dublin, and Grouse Lodge in County Westmeath. There was also a celebrity episode which featured more established musicians recording a cover version for charity. Eight acts took part in the show. These were Dirty Epics, Hoarsebox, The Infomatics, Majella Murphy, Noise Control, R.S.A.G., Sickboy and Sweet Jane. The four acts which made it to the semi-finals recorded a track at Grouse Lodge. The top three from that vote progressed to the final at the Button Factory in Dublin.

news2day is an Irish children's television news programme, broadcast weekdays at 4.25pm on RTÉ Two. It is eight minutes long, and is similar in format to the BBC's Newsround.

2TV was an Irish music programme broadcast on Sunday mornings on both Network 2 television and RTE 2fm radio from 1995 until at least 2001, even during the summer months. It was presented by Dave Fanning, with Bianca Luykx, although Ray D'Arcy was once said to have done a summer show to allow Fanning to spend more time with his family, being referred to as "Dave" "about a dozen times". The programme was essentially a continuation of Ian Dempsey's The Beatbox, which had occupied 2TV's Sunday morning time-slot for the previous number of years. In 2000, Fanning admitted that he did no work on the show and that he did not like most of the music he played on it. This was not however the reason for its cancellation as he also said he would continue presenting it. Fanning described it as "not rocket science, it's moron television", saying he "hardly even knew where the 2TV office was, and that's God's honest truth". Promotions for the show were created by a Swede, Jorgen Andreason, who had ten years experience at Swedish Television before moving to Ireland. The show was sponsored by Coca-Cola for a number of years.

Football's Next Star is a television programme broadcast on RTÉ Two under the TRTÉ brand in Ireland. The show aims to find a young football player who could be the "next big thing" and reward them with a professional contract at Celtic F.C. in Scotland. The series will be presented by former Westlife member and Celtic fan Nicky Byrne.

The Committee Room was a Gaelic games-themed magazine and review television programme that aired on RTÉ Two since 25 May 2011 until September 2011. Presented by Marty Morrissey, who is joined by a different panel of guests every week, the programme features a mix of interviews, analysis and discussion on all GAA related matters.

Echo Island is an Irish television programme for children and young adults, shown on RTÉ Network 2. It was shown at 17:00 during The Den. The show effectively took over from Jo Maxi which had been aimed at Teenagers. A number of current Irish media presenters either began, or spent part of, their early careers on Echo Island, including Dara Ó Briain, Derek Mooney, Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Tom O'Brannigan, Carrie Crowley, Mary Kingston, Peter O'Meara, Danann Breathnach, Sinéad Chaomhánach, Sharon Ní Fhinneadha and Christine Ní Chearraláin.

This Is Nightlive was an Irish satire television series broadcast on RTÉ Two. It was created by John Ryan who also starred in the series. RTE had announces on A Spin Off is this is daylive from 2013

Dan & Becs was an Irish comedy television series aired on RTÉ Two. It portrayed the lives of an affluent South Dublin couple. Dan was played by Dave Coffey and Becs was played by Holly White. In 2008 the show was nominated for an IFTA in the Best Television Entertainment Category. The show ended in 2007 after two series. Both series were released in December 2007 on one DVD with added extras. Creator Dave Coffey, who also played Dan in the show, is working on a new show, Sarah & Steve which he described as a "sweet romantic comedy about a relationship between two working class people based in Tallaght".
