Two boys take different life paths.

Sani, a boy in puberty, and his elder brother Amir spend their summer holidays as usual in Slovenia to visit his uncle and his wife. The summer is beautiful, long and hot. Sani enjoys meeting new people, he likes the girls and the carefree fun. However, he does not realize that this is more than a vacation, namely, that he would stay in Slovenia. When he finds out about these plans that his relatives made for his life Sani is distressed and shocked. Under the pressure of these new and unexpected circumstances, his puberty turns into a wild chase.

The film begins with his arrest and uses flashbacks to tell the events that led to his incarceration. His abuse is chronicled both in and out of prison after he falls in with a Bonnie and Clyde-like duo after the war is over.

On zippity-zappity path through time and space, they come across a nerdy neighbor Smarty, a great connoisseur of magic potions, who is brewing his newest potion according to an ancient recipe. Smarty joins the two little witches after the unpredictable course of events and unforgettable "zippity-zappity" journey full of challenges and complexities that arise in the Ljubljana city streets begins. The world of magic is governed by different rules than the normal world: if you do not like Monday, you can easily jump into Tuesday, put a spell on an evil neighbor, shorten the stretched road and even kick out the crankiness. But even great witches can not avoid dentists forever, not even with magic.

The main protagonists of the film are members of the gypsy family Mirga. Lutvija Belmondo Mirga narrates a story about four generations. Belmondo is the central character of the film, a gypsy king, who decided to establish his own gypsy village. He names it Shanghai. Belmondo makes a living smuggling and his power and influence grow big. He even gets the local police and politics on his side and that helps him to become untouchable for law. But with the downfall of Yugoslavia, smuggling of goods is replaced by smuggling of the arms. Though lucrative the business starts to threaten Belmondo’s personal life and he finds himself at the crossroads. Will he protect his own family or is he going to sacrifice his personal happiness for business ambitions?

Codelli is a feature-length docudrama about a little-known film project by Slovenian inventor Baron Anton Codelli. Together with filmmaker and adventurer Hans Schomburgk he filmed in Togo in 1914 the first live-action film in Africa, which possibly inspired James Rice Burroughs for his novel on Tarzan. In the company of three Codelli’s descendants and actor Primož Bezjak, we traced the fate of Codelli’s film, brought the remains from Togo and Berlin to Ljubljana and used the Green Screen technology to bring to life 15 live-action scenes based on 600 Codelli’s museum photographs.
